yup..instead of talking abt merits of the book, he went on a rant about Ayesha's integrity.
He also said there are reports that while she was an employee of the Naval Accounts branch for a few years, she had some bad personal experiences there.
Grudges...

Again, he implies the author had grudges against the army. Questioning her integrity and not merits of the book. A little below the belt coming from the President. That's street talk.
If the book has some grudging, conniving author backed by those with opposing interests (India etc, political forces left dry by the military backed govt etc) words and numbers can be made to look like anything, presented as anything, half pictures presented as full, or full pictures presented as half all depends on the lens (here author)...that's propaganda.
so what’s Musharraf’s agenda here - to check the endurance limit of the awam or deliver on the promises he made when fell on us from the skies ??
its a simple logic - when a person claims to be better than others, awam would rally behind him cuz they’re being pushed against the wall. But when the same person turns out to be yet another shallow character professional politician than on a scale of relativity, he’d be taken as far worse than those whom he was mocking & ridiculing just 8 yrs ago.
And as far as nepotism, corruption among awam - its happening everywhere, every country. But its the leadership that has to keep things in check as well as provide an example to follow. Do you think the political system in the US is completely free of corruption? things happen there as well, congressman take advantage of loopholes in the system but at the same time they make sure to keep a tab on it and not go an wild ride as if the country is their baap ki jageer. Plus when the judicial system gets a wind of their acts, it comes down heavily on them. And thats what keeps everyone inlcuding the elites as well as commons in line with the system. Hence a cleaner leadership is essential for a relatively better system to take its roots in the society. But in case of Pakistan, in between BB, NS & Mush we’ve a status quo which is not going to go away anytime soon. So Don’t blame the awam for the failures of leadership.
he is better than bb or ns or any of the other lotas in pakistan
somehow bb has gotten in strong with cundelesa rice (most likely. By promising full blast coopn in catching al qaeda and allowing aqkhan to be interrogated at will)
so he will have to let bb come in
if bb comes in, it's better for him to be around as a check rather than let her run riot
and if he and bb are both around, it makes sense toi let bb and ns duke it out amongst each other with him (musharaf) as the big guy
the one wild card is then kiyani. Musharaf's well being is now tied to how well kiyani is going to keep up his words of non-aggression.
Since kiyani does not have a public following or profile of any kind, as long as he doesn't develop further aspirations, all is well for mush. Worst case then is kiyani develops a nexus with either bb or ns. Then it's back to sqr one.
Iftikhar will be only a very minor factor going fwd. As soon he has made his deal with musharaf and bb (which is the only reason for holding of on sup court decision, so that he can get bb's promise also) on not prosecuting himself or his son, he is happy to retire (either with without a job)
