In my random reading today, I came across an interesting Bengali wedding custom.
On the beginning day of the wedding festivities, it is traditional for the groom’s side to send a pair of the best fish from that day’s catch dressed as a bride and groom:
The fish are meant to be cooked and eaten later. I thought this was interesting. Does anyone know more about this or if it is still followed today?

Good question. I'm not entirely sure how common it is in general. The article I read it from was about interesting wedding traditions from around the world, so it briefly described each tradition and didn't go into too much detail.

Re: Interesting Bengali Wedding Tradition
Do they prefer any specific specie of fish or any fish will do?
