Is there anything that can develop intesret in cooking?
i am too lazy to cook some thing.. i hate cooking. whenver i went on kitchen and start thinking about cooking i start sneezing and water start comin out of my eyes.

how can i develop interest?

Start taking pics of your food.. work on it's garnish, presentation etc...visit recipe sites or watch cooking shows occasionally... all this has helped me.

masi i try this too. i watch cooking shows and my family make fun of me " cooking kernay ka shoq ne cooking shows dekhnay ka bht shoq hay’ :bummer:

ask your husband to give you a nice feed back whenever you cook , this may motivate you.

Tabby , I think one of the biggest thing about cooking is … most good chefs , hated cooking before they started loving it :cb: .. its actually very true ..

I remember my mom put so much pressure on me to learn cooking and I would cry my heart out at the thought of being in the kitchen .. then suddenly one day i made a dish , coz a friend had made it and it was a big hit and i loved its taste and wanted to try it too … and my family loved it and ate it heartily … I felt so proud of myself …

Then didnt cook for a while , but when ever i cooked and it turned out well and people would praise me , I just loved the attention … :cb: … and I cant even remember how and when i fell in love with cooking … its just a natural process …

what was the reason Little? I mean were you trying to make something and werent able to ? or just in general?

You should try to cultivate** interest** in cooking...if you are looking forward to it...the most important thing is that you should move on as easy as you feel...you will surprise yourself...in the shortest possible time...to get the feel (now you are settled to move on)...afterall...cooking is an art form...and art is to feel...Bingo! :)

-Start from the easiest and mediocre things like making tea, boiling or frying an egg...

-Try to cut some greens to make salads...adding some sauces at times...

-Try to make some soups by reading some recipes...trial & error period...

-By starting and doing the abovementioned...you might have gained some feelings and vision (the art and grasp)...

-From here on...you can move to some more complex recipes...the best is that it should come from within...Why from within...if something goes wrong...you can fix it instantly...yourself...its yours...you are the master of your own creations...** :)**

-And when you have mastered the art of cooking in its complexties...your job will be then to simplify it...because as the time goes on...you might not be able to handle those complexties (the decaying era)...just for the sake of longevity... :D

Zaberdast and Masi gave some really good tips , Can I also add that , if you dont feel like cooking at all , then one of the culprits might be the way your kitchen looks … perhaps its not very welcoming :hmmm: …

I love cooking , but when i was living in a certain flat right before the wedding, I hated its kitchen and totally lost interest in cooking up any food in there :no: … and now in my new home i am tryig to make the kitchen as welcoming and warm as possible , coz that can be really motivating ..:@:

/\ CB...cooking and feeding nicely is the most basic necessity of continuing life...I think...we should not ignore it... :)

oh my Gosh tab...if you only knew how many of us started off by hating to cook anything at all....
one of the reasons I disliked cooking was that my mom was in charge of her kitchen...and she doesn't do things my way...so I hated going into the kitchen, couldn't wait to get out soon enough...

Once I was on my own ... I started off trying my mom's recipes that I had seen myself.....and that helped me a lot in building my confidence...and from there on interest just keeps increasing....

try off slow and easy...and I agree wholeheartedly with CB ..ur kitchen makes a world of difference... I can not even stand in a messy kitchen let alone cook in one...

i try this. it was good in taste. i did two mistakes first cake was not very soft and sponge and second one when i put the cake in dish from bakig try it breaks into two parts from the centre. but when i serve it i decoarte the cake very clevrly no one still know that cake break in two parts from the centre :cb:
