Intelligence & race

All great points Hitchki, for sure. One thing tho…I’d like to remind you that I do not agree that Intelligence is related to skin color. While I was thinking about human development from the time of cave-men…over the eons and ages when skin-folds developed over eyes, some skins darkened and some skins lightened, the rest of the posters are talking about the past handful of generations which is really an eye-blink in the amount of time that humans have inhabited the earth.

Different people in different areas developed differently. They developed so differently in fact that their physical appearance shows their age-old heritage. It just follows (in my mind) that if their physical appearance and characteristics can change and adapt to their environment, then so can/do their brains and therefore there would be a variance in the testing of “intelligence” however it may be measured.

Does this mean that one race is better or smarter than another? I dont think so…Nor does it mean that it applies to humans in the recent sense. Intelligence measurements are for sure racially, socailly and environmentally biased because heck…give the average american white kid a day or 2 in the african desert and they’d likely not survive…that doesnt mean that they’re less or more smart than the african kids who CAN survive, it just means that they’re different.

What is measured, how its measured and who its being measured for makes all the difference…but still, I do think that theres a general difference between races - some races being more physical, some more esoteric etc. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe not.
