Re: Intellectual show offs.
For a religious person the idea of atheism is perplexing and for an atheist person, religion has no relevance to their life. As many people have reiterated, personal belief is essentially subject to personal choice. We can't impose our opinions upon others.
It is for an individual to do decide how they lead their lives and whether they deem it necessary for a religious influence to have a role within their lives.
Morality, manners and intention do not need to have a religious basis. Yes, they may be present in religious values and beliefs but atheists can be moral, well mannered and lead a good life without religion. None of us can guarantee we will go to heaven or janaah. No one has guaranteed us this on an individual basis. How do we know that an atheist, who is a good person does not get a chance to go to heaven, if that is the sum of our existence? All we can do is attempt to lead a good life. Our decisions are due to own on personal choice.
Forced conversion is wrong. Abusing religion to fulfil one's own needs is wrong. Following religion blindly can have more negative impact than being atheist.
For those of us who are Muslims, does Islam not encourage peace? Does it not teach us tolerance and the importance of it. Love of humanity and all of God's creatures. Are atheists not people? Are people of other religions not human?
Live and let live. When we go to our graves we are not accountable for others actions. Let's work on bettering ourselves and getting our own backyards in order before we go around attempting to re arrange other peoples backyards.
