Do you try and count calories? How many do you manage per day?

i am gna start 2day,....................i was shocked 2 see that my favourite part of breakfast---a cherry bakewell tart contains 183 calories,........................that was a bit of a wake-up call,.......

not anymore since im not trying to lose anymore weight and i have an idea as to what my food choices should be.
but its generally a good idea to keep track of calories eaten. some food items carry unusually high amount of calories such as for example a bucket of movie theater butter popcorn has over 1000 calories and over 70 grams of fat. microwave popcorn has really high amounts of trans fatty acids....(and some people think of popcorn as healthy)

I used to count calories from carbs and fats. It affected my diet in a positive way. Think I am going to start doing that again soon, insha'Allah.

A doctor friend of mine would say, at meal times take what you think will be enough for you on your plate, then remove half and set it aside. then the remaining half throw half in the trash(Naouzobillah)
Eat what remains on your plate.

Hmmm I just make guesses... like the bowl of brown mattar rice and chicken karrahi (cooked in olive oil) and yogurt costed me 800 calories :(
It's easier wheN i eat out, at subway or kfc or mcdonalds, at least that way I cankeep track of calories ..

If you want to LOSE weight, simply consume less calories than suggested and more calories if weight GAIN is what you desire.

haha i know, but it worked for him. For me its showing 1900 calories :eek: thats alot! There was a formula from that one guy from the biggest loser, i will look for it and i think mine came out to like 1200 if i want to lose weight.

hee hee, this dam thing tells me I need only 1600 cals per day, I'd DIE of starvation!!! Its just a general guideline but heck, i think i'm closer to 2500 and I dont gain so dont listen to that thing people!

and if i make it "very light activity" even then it tells me i need 1700!

i stick to the 1200-1500 rule

Have you noticed that its only the unfit people that worry bout calories and such bull****.

As if thats going to do a thing in helping anybody get fit.

Stay active, stop watching tv and hogging the space infront of the computer.
Go out, walk, exercise, play sports.
Eat anything and everything.

the more you are going to sit on your bed worrying bout calories, the more you'll end up stuffing your face with food.
