Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye...

pinks, what is the dot about? :>

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye...

kuch likha tha, and then realised ke it sounded like alaa balaa tou meiney change kar diya :)

The Poem is a Nazm which has, if I remember correctly, five stanzas (B'and) or 6?

Every stanza has a different and complete meaning of its own although the connection among all of them makes you see the whole poem in one context (Insha Jee kaa naam naa lo)...

So the stanza you are refering to is:

Woh laRki achi laRki hai, tum naaaaam naa lo hum jaan gaye
woh jiss kay lambay geYsu haiN, pehchaan gaye pehchaan gaye
haaN sath humaray Insha bhee uss ghar maiN thaY mehmaan gaye
par uss say tau kuch baat na kee, anjaan rahay anjaan gaye
yeh baataiN jhooTi baataiN haiN, yeh logoN nay pheylaayi haiN
tum insha jee ka naam na lo, kiya insha jee soodaai haiN?

It's obvious that the poet is concerned about the good-name and values of the person he is refering to... it also shows respect, love, admiration, and longing for that person in poet's heart...

hmmmm

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye...

thanks, AQ for the comment and what you explained about this nazam by Insha.
so in not saying, he says it.

that's what it is :)

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye...

Dush: This is one of my favorites by IJ.

And no need to say anything more as AQ has already explained.

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye...

shaYwa-e-Ishq nahii husuN ko Ruswa kaRna

Yaar, iss sai to behtar thaa kay insha ji us kaa naam lai laitay, kyun kay naam kay ilawaa aur sub kuch bataa dalaa

So I am not sure if poet was concerned about the good-name or he was having fun by making people play guessing games

so if I say, dont take the name of that person but he is the director of GS and his grand daughter is so cute and he has her pic as avatar … do I have to take his name now …

sorry, my tow cents worth

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye...

TLK bhi what the heck was that....lol....
AQ bhi apna sar peet rahay hongay

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye...

Janiya behen, seriously ,am I not right ..?

AQ ka kiyaa hai, wo to har waqt apna sar peet ta rehta hai :D

…and similarly TLK has just exposed his own insensitivity…

yes Sagar bhai, you know me so well :D

You are right TLK, I do not know you, however I think you were a little off base on your assessment of this poem by Insha Ji............thinking more on the negative side it seems to me atleast.

I can only judge from your comments TLK Bhai....................no offence!

:hehe: that was not a sarcasm, it was a friendly comment when I said that ‘you know me so well’

Yaar Sagar bhai, if everyone is agreed on the same view then a thread will die with in four/fice posts

someone has to bring the ‘other’ view even if its a negative view ..

I love insha ji .. but the way he described the girl (and if the girl was for real), there was no need to take her name. His friends would know whom he was talking about just by reading it.

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye...

And I am sure that in his great analysis, Buzurjmehr of Shairi, janaab Shair-e-Azam TLK mudda zillahul aa'li wa afi anhu marhoom-o-maghfoor wa murraqadallahi norehi can also cite other examples where actually Urdu poets have referred to Sinf-e-Naazuk with their name when talking to the third person.

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye…

^^ Ubaidullah Aleem has at least one nazam with the title “Shehnaz” about his lover of the same name

:chai:

and of course majnooN has been cited to call upon Laila in the urdu poetry…

anyother example where a poet used the name when talking to the third person and not calling his/her lover by name directly?

Re: INSHA - wohh larki achi larki heye…

Shehnaz was a real person, not a fictional character like Laila

One example is not enough for you AQ? :chai:
