i would love to adopt, but you know how difficult it is ( in Australia anyway)? I have gone around in circles for 4 years trying to get somewhere but it’s near impossible. 5-10 year wait for local adoption for a baby to become available and then maybe the baby’s parents don’t want you. My friend is currently adopting from China. She has been on their list for 5 years, and maybe 5 years more. Same kinda problem with adopting in Pak, Islamically you can’t give the child your name, and so Australia doesn’t recognise that type of adoption. A lady in the community got a child from her SIL in Pak, and has to live there instead, she can’t bring the child to Aus for a few years.. so it’s not always an easy option

if you are looking, Morocco can be an option.
the last name business is bunk, because if the kid is abandoned and you don’t know the last name anyways, whether you give them your last name or some random name it does not matter. The question is of the intention, and islamically an adopted/foster kid can not be passed as your biological kid, back in the day the name was the only record, now there is a lot more. we adopted from morocco, as did some friends, and some people adopted from pakistan. look more into it, you may have to readopt in your country again, as we had to do, but had no problems even though in morocco you are given guardianship or kafala as they call it, but the end result is the same u are raising a kid in your house who is not biologically yours. diff topic, but if u are serious we can chat more, there are others around u can talk to as well.
