Inferiority Complex

Re: Inferiority Complex

I think aahmed has made some very good points

*I understand what Hareem means about designer things but my thoughts take a little bit of a different path, I feel that if you can afford a $500 Coach purse, then you can also afford to give $500 to charity as mentioned in the above verse, give from the good things you earn. I feel that if people are wealthy and spend on extravagant things, that's fine, as long as they don't forget their charitable responsibilities to their families, friends, neighbors and the traveling wanderer. Great wealth is a source of test for us, God wants to see (of course He knows how we will react, it's all about free will) how we deal with our wealth, do we hoard or do we spend on ourselves and on charity?

Solomon was given a kingship never attained by anyone else, he had more wealth than today's "richest people in the world". He gave to charity, he spent wisely, and he was a great messenger. Qaroon on the other hand, had similar wealth, he hoarded it, nothing good comes from hoarding*.

Re: Inferiority Complex

Please all of you who are condemning me for condemning designer labels/consumerism, please read this.

Bonfire of the Brands

I dont think buying designer stuff once or maybe twice a year is going to make me a spendthrift. I think its applicable to those ppl who do this stuff in extremes. That's what they teach us in Islam too, apply mayana-rawi (middle path), dont touch the extreme ends of the spectrum.

Re: Inferiority Complex

my mum does it...and it oh it makes me CRINGE!! its not people over compensating for something they are missing, its just them wanting the world to know how well they have done. my parents started for literally nothing, and theyve done well in life. my mum wants people to know, so she shows off...oh how i wish she wold stop though lol

Re: Inferiority Complex

also about the whole designer thing thats going on...if you can afford designer stuuf, you can afford to give to the poor, if you dont give to the poor/needy...youre just selfish. you should give what you get....thats what Allah would want. my mum shows off, but my parents also give A LOT to people who need it, theyve earned a lot of sawaab from their doings.

Re: Inferiority Complex

im sick off f*cktards typing up in Urdu or whatever language it is. bloody type in English or translate your post in English aswell.

f*cking hell.

Take a chill pill jacka$$, some people don't understand English just like you don't understand Urdu, so stop acting like an arrogant prick and realize that not everyone speaks English, jacka$$!!

haaaaaaaaahhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!..:omg:..ROTFL!..

I'll have to agree with Mirch here. Although some people DO really try to show off and I think you can always tell the difference when someone is really trying to show off because of their inferiority complex and when they're just telling you about their achievements out of happiness.
