Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis...

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

partition was bound to happen, if not along religious line then definitely along ethnic lines; South Asia is much larger than Europe in diversity and population, it was never gonna stay as one, the ones who believe in some sort of Pan-south asian identity, don’t know anything about history.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

Arabs and Iranians are known for terrorism too, so claiming wouldn’t make any sense.

Bengalis also claim a lot of Arab and Persian ancestry yet they don’t have a bad image.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

Because Pakistan diverse country with people of different ethnic groups and origins, and if there are a minority that do indeed have such ancestry, it doesn’t make them a self hater.

In fact this very common around the world, if you go to Arab countries there are people there who claim Persian ancestry, people who claim Circassian,Chechen,Kashgari ancestry, even some who claim Indian ancestry.

If you go to north africa, there are Berbers who claim Spanish and French ancestry and people in the levant who claim greek ancestry, there are christains in india who claim syrian and portuguese ancestry and people all across southeast Asia claiming Chinese ancestry, and then you got White people claiming native american ancestry.

so i don’t understand people who only mock pakistanis who claim some foreign ancestry, it isn’t entirely implausible.

You can’t claim to be “Indian”, cause all Pakistani ethnic groups are native to Pakistan and Indian isn’t even an ethnicity anyways, it’s like being American, it means nothing.

and there are Pakistani who claim Bengali ancestry, there are famous Bengali-Pakistanis and there are illegal Bengali slums in karachi

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

I am not Pan-anything. People growing apart naturally and being forcefully torn apart are two very different things. I think the hatred for each other in the subcontinent was bred by outer influences. It came to a point where people had to be stopped. History tells me humans are the most selfish species, yet the only species that continues to destroy itself. You would notice any country that is ethnically extremely diverse has unity issues. Take Uganda for example.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

well naturally, most of the subcontinent was apart from each other for most of history, in fact you’re blaming outer influences for “tearing south asians apart” when in reality it was the very outer influences that created such a union; if you blame the British for dividing “India”, it was the British they created “India” -the subcontinent was never a unified entity for most of history, and nothing will change that, i don’t care what some brainwashed ignorant Pakistanis and Indian nationalists have to say.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

I agree that it was never unified but are we now? With more ethnic groups than ever, more political issues than even, more extremism than ever, is there unity anywhere? My point is partition is not the answer.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

Loool, you’re using the word “unified” in abstract way; by “unified” I meant India/the subcontinent was rarely a unified entity -physically, especially before the British came. So yes, Pakistan is a unified entity, it exists and so is the Republic of India(not to be confused with ancient India or British-India).

I’m not talking about “political” problems or whatever, i’m talking about historical facts.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

Drawing borders doesn’t tear or unify people. There is nothing abstract in my post. It takes conscious effort to rise above religious, racial, and ethnic differences and realize that we really are just like other people. Remove our false sense of superiority because we belong to a certain country, race, religion, or ethnicity and we will have a bigger unified group of people. Count your differences and the group will get smaller, will struggle more, and will have more political issues.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

Why would some one make an effort if he/she is not already aware, as to what he/she making effort towards ?
If he/she is already aware then she/he is already above, then why would he/she make effort ?

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

It’s an ongoing process. :stuck_out_tongue: It’s not a one time thing. Just like compassion and mindfulness aren’t just things you need to realize, you need to practice them.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

Oh this debate again…

Yes, plenty of Pakistanis are exotic looking regardless of the fact whether claim foreign ancestry or not. It’s all down to history and geographical location. Punjab in particular has a long history of foreign invasion (the most invaded part in the Asian subcontinent) and you see all kinds of diversity there. Invaders became settlers so it is common that some mixed marriages may have taken place in the past, and genes work in a funny way.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, for example is a ‘Pakistani’ (Kashmiri clan), but wrap her in black open cloak and she would easily look like a stereotypical Iranian woman or Turkish woman if you take away the traditional clothing. And there are plenty of Pakistanis girls who are just as fair with similar sharp features as Maryam Nawaz.

I have confused plenty of Turkish guys as Pakistani Pashtuns. or Pushtun (Pakistani and Afghani) as Greeks or Baltic people. Hardly a big deal.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

Lots of people do this…and take pride in it.

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

I’m English, some how I believe you knowing that is relevant to this thread.

I didn’t write** ‘majority’** anywhere in my post did I?

How dare you mention that!

Re: Inferiority Complex between Pakistanis…

I get mistaken for a ridiculously good looking Italian guy all the time. It’s so frustrating that people place an ethnic label on my milkshake, instead of recognizing that I’m the sexy apex of thousands of years of colonizing in the Punjab.
