India's options

Re: India’s options

I think its time to stop thinking abt possible scenraios and jus tplay to the best of ure abilities in the Ind SL match…and leave the rest upto the Almighty…

Re: India's options

when SL beats BD then BD run rate will be in -ve and when Ind beats SL
Ind NRR will improve more and SL NRR will come down then BD needs to beat Bermuda with huge margin:) to reach Ind NRR ,
other groups everything is clear but for B group we need to wait till the last match
but for all this ind need to beat SL

Re: India's options

Bottomline: If India beats SriLanka, india is through to super eights. No way banglas are beating bermudans by 250. And expect bangla to lose from lankans with a comfortable (from india's point of view) margin.

Re: India's options

I wish bangladesh was in Pakistan's group, and Ireland was in India's group. Pakistan would still be packing, and India wud be through to super 8s

Re: India's options

^ Kyon bhai...sahi to bolaa *patriotic_munda ne*...why are you bewildered.

Re: India's options

What if India wins the game against SL and then the BL Bermuda game is washed out.....now wudnt tht be amusing to the Bangla Forum!

Re: India's options

Guys...do whatever permutations and combinations you please...but the fact remains...India has to beat SL...and that to me looks like a tall order...

Unfortunately for India, Sehwag scored a century and Agarkar took 3 wickets against Bermuda...which means they will remain in the team for the match against SL......and you know what that means !!

India's bowling has looked very innocuos....I am certain SL batsmen will take it apart...but I hope to be proven wrong.

Re: India's options

trust me dude, i wud rather have agarkar over pathan or sreesanth. both wud go over 60 runs in their ten overs. agarkar can still manage to keep it under 60 with a wicket or two. For sehwag, we need him. If he turns on its an automatic win for us. If not, tough luck.

Re: India's options

Agarkar over Sreesanth...may be
but certainly not Agarkar over Pathan

For one thing, Pathan is a much better batsman should we have a batting collapse like the one we had against BD.

Agarkar bowls at least 2-3 loose balls every over. He most often relieves all the pressure that is created by the bowler from the other end. In the match against BD, he started by giving too much width to that Tamim guy...who slashed them for fours and grew in confidence. Even Bermuda batsmen were hardly treating Agarkar with any respect. So he came back and picked up three lower order wickets...big deal. Agarkar's body language during bowling is anything but aggressive.

Re: India's options

Pathan sucks so bad, even pakistani batsmen could hit sixes off his every ball

Re: India's options

Dekho bhai mere...I did not say that Pathan was a great replacement for Agarkar...both suck at bowling....but due to Pathan's batting abilities , I would prefer him over Agarkar...that and the fact that he does not have that disgusting stoop when walking back to the top of his run up.

On a related note, I think Pathan has unfortunately suffered from high expectations he himself created(not just in bowling but also in batting) but now is unable to live up to it. It is sad that while Sehwag and Agarkar keep getting chances even after delivering CRAP over so long(that century against mighty Bermuda notwithstanding), Pathan comes for special attention from the management and was recently shunted to domestic Cricket to supposedly get his confidence back.

Re: India's options

i think u didn't see the warm up games, he did take wickets, but all his deliveries were asking to be hit. He was nowhere close to what he was before. As for his batting abilities, we already have quality batsmen in the team. if they can't get the job done, then tough luck. We can't decrease our bowling strength to increase our batting. in warm ups he was bowking around 114ks to 124ks short, full, wide. agarkar at least bowls 130-138, and zips in that tight wicket taking delivery once every over. Hes the one who gets gayles and suriyas every time. I am not against pathan, but he needs to improve his bowling to where it used to be. Even i can swing better than him now.

Re: India's options

I wish india to advance as it will be the last wc for sachin and i think it will be great for the master batsman - The best cricket has ever produced to go all the way inshallah.

In my list Sachin - 1, Lara 2, Ponting 3, Miandad 4, Yousaf 5, Inzi 6

These are from my living memory....

Re: India's options

So what are the chances of Indian exit :p

Re: India's options

Well...actually this game turned out good for India. We wanted SL to beat Bangladesh heavily which we did.
Now for India is very clear... Beat SL and go into super 8 with 2 point advantage. And then you have few weaker team their ( Eng, Ireland , WI) to help you accummulate points. Also they others need to play stronger SL who India doesnt have to play.
It may be day dreaming on my side. But India's win against SL will go long way for India. Stakes are much higher but looking at SL performance it looks very very difficult task. But then we have defeather them 8-2 in last 10 matches.

Re: India's options

You seem obsessed with Pakistani players. Look at your bowlers and how they were murdered by puny little BD batsmen who today were massacred by SL bowlers. So auqat mein reh kar baat kiya karo.

If you want to see the performance of your bowlers go and look at the head to head ODI record between the two countries.
