**yaar Laaloo Prasaad is long gone but the wheel he gave a spin is still spinning and i hope will be spinning always because India is a poor country and it needs a robust railway system for it’s masses which carries 18 million people a year.
i can afford air travel within India alHamdolillah but i LOVE train travel so i take trains all the time. i buy Indrail Pass, that is available to Foreigners only, allows unlimited travel within a periopd of 30 days for ONLY US$ 400 for AC First [highest class of service]. it’s so cheap!**

we have suffered a lot traveling in non AC general/unreserved coaches for a long time…finally, good times have arrived in terms of traveling.

newer coaches are indeed world class at least from exterior…from inside, they still have to go a long way…coach interiors must be their next priority.**

**YUP…it’s very convenient…you don’t have to line up for the reservation…walk up to the train and the staff will definitely oblige you with a seat/berth from the VIP quota…India KNOWS how to treat it’s foreign tourists…they are very well treated. it’s my experience. i always use Indrail Pass.
yes, train travel in India is special and since i grew up by the track side, railways is part of me…i still love train travel, especially thru rain…watch this train thru rain.
