Thank you for an honest expression. I wasn’t expecting this from you because you were behaving quite differently before. Looks like you are quite a mature person compared to the rest. So accept my acknowledgment of this fact.

My argument is that whatever Hinduism is, totally wrong, partially wrong or whatever, it is what it is and we cannot change it. My intent was to show that many serious deficiencies are present at the root of it which sometimes other Indians attribute to Islam and Pakistan. They don’t look at things in a fair manner. They attrubute certain things to Islam and Pakistan which are altogether false but don’t know that there are problems with their side.

Now, I want to say one thing. For me, if you are a hindu, you have the same rights as me as a human. You are not my enemy per se (as you might have sensed from my posts). Please keep visiting this site. Leaving the site is not a solution. I say this because I see you have not acted the way others do and I think you have the ability to keep the differences and still live together…

Thanks for the post Lahore.

Its definitely true that many Indians do blame Islam/Pakistan for things that are not true. But it is more a result of the political reality that we live with - so I dont think that aspect of our lives will ever change (just as much am sure some pakistanis would also be blaming Hindus/Indians - all the propoganda that we have grown up with from our textbooks and our media since childhood has been accepted by us as the final truth so it does show up). But it is also true that a overwhelming majority of Hindus are so self-content with their lives and the role their relgion plays in it and also pretty complacent about their religion, that a normal Indian/Hindu is not really concerned about superiority of Hinduism or any such stuff. They are aware of neither the strengths or weaknesses of their religion (actually would be completely ignorant of the verses you present here). The RSS and BJP did manage to stir their emotions and made such an issue that led to the Babri Masjid demoloition and the Gujarat riots (thankfully, most Hindus are ashamed of both - if you meet any Hindu, who is not, kindly butcher him on my behalf and I shall be truly grateful to you for that). But what really determines the ground realities is the essential - Roti, Kapda aur Makan. So what makes Narendra Modi win elections even after the Gujarat carnage is not the carnage itself but that most of the poor got some the essentials.

But there is a growing (hope fully at a slow rate) section of Hindus who feel that other religions (Islam and Christianity) are converting Hindus through unfair means and hence Hindus need to get militant themselves else they will be wiped out etc etc. One hopes that this remains a small proportion or dies out soon.

But while there are enough negatives in Hinduism (more in scriptures never read by 99.9% Hindus - but impact of those in much diluted form is still there - women are not equally ro even well-treated eveywhere - though it very much holds for Muslims in India too despite their scripture not wanting it), what is Hinduism at the moment (important point as it never had a begining or any single source as the Holy Bible or Holy Quran) has lot of positives which is why I am happy and so are other Hindus.

Hopefully more of us will be able to accept our differences and live together.

This is a social problem which exists in India (& Pakistan, Bangladesh, China)

Education is one answer. If the women are educated-they can earn money.
Love marriages-The Dowry could not be demanded/paid.
Education of men-they would realise it's wrong.

God forbid,the day will come, when there will not be enough women-Parents of boys will have to pay Dowry to get a wife. Like in certain parts of Africa.
