Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

this was expected. shaking my head

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

hmmm good in a sense that yes it should be equal on both sides...they should show our tv channels too......(there is a lot of hypocrisy though)

bad in a sense good programmes will be missed (NOT the dramas)...but this hardly effects me since i dont live in pak at the moment and ppl can still access them via internet or with "different label" as imania said.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

^ Please name JUST ONE good programe on any of those crap channels

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

Pak SC should also ban Pakistanis artists from working in India as well. If they do, they should eb stripped from their Pakistani citizenship.....

How can a Pakistani be a true Pakistan, if he/she likes to work in India? Totally beyond my comprehension.

Plus, Pakistan is an Islamic country, Television should be used only for NEWS, and Islamic Programs, not for vahiyat entertainment and comedy.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

^ sir you are in the showbiz section and you want us to ban any entertainment or comedy?

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

It is acceptable for Pakistani actors and singers to work in India since there is an equal exchange of talent e.g. Indian singers do playback for our films and Indian actors have acted in our dramas. By following this rule we have banned Indian dramas since India refuses point blank to show our Pakistani dramas to their public. There is a sense of insecurity in India, it is common knowledge that Pakistani dramas are superior. Yet Pakistan welcomes India with open arms be it films or any other arts...like a jolly, forgetful and forgiving cousin.

It may be hard for you to accept since you're Indian, but I'm sure you have enough common sense to see the fairness of it all.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

Honestly, Indian television is all gloss and no substance...you get tired of it so soon. Pakistani serials would be hugely popular if they let their people see them. So a quid pro quo treatment by the Pakistanis is absolutely fine here. They even allow bollywood films to be screened in theaters in Pakistan -- the least the Indian government can do is legalize channels like ARY, GEO etc. but they are so anti-Pakistan (and so are their people, to an extent) that they'll never do this.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

It is not because of the India does not like Pakistani dramas. Pakistan dramas were watched before as well.

There is a lot of stuff that is shown on Pakistani TV that is questionable to secular society.

For Example: Frequent use of word Kaffir. Open bashing of Hindus (words like hindu baniya, zehniyat of hindus. Glorfication of hindu and jews bashers like ZAid Hamid who propagates Gazwa e Hind, India pe hamla karna sawab hai...A hindu can never be your friend etc etc.

These shows and programs have purpose of injection venom against a particular religion i.e. hinduism.

These are the shows that are telecasted on Pakistani TV.

There is difference between speaking against a country as whole and spitting venom against a particular religion. I guess, a Pkaistani does not know the difference.

Have you seen any show or program on Indian TV, that spews hatred against Islam or muslims???

Please get rid of Hindu haters from your TV and then we can look at Pakistan TV.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

You sound like you've never tuned in to Pakistani television. Please educate yourself before you make such broad statements abt "anti Hindu" / "anti india" content airing on Pakistani television. On the contrary, a lot of Pakistani television channels air Indian-oriented programming because there's not enough locally produced software to cater the demands of the 100+ channels that are operating in the country now. Channels with major viewership like ARY, GEO, HUM etc. are known for their liberal programming and take extraordinary measures to screen out politically incorrect content. GEO has even dedicated itself to the Indian-Pakistani peace process and constantly bombards its viewers with its "Aman ki Asha" messages. However, the situation is disappointing on the Indian end where an anti-Pakistan bias is observed on literally every channel and especially in the news shows.

So really, forming your opinions on a few youtube clips is ignorance, please go back and inform and educate yourself before you start assessing issues.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

^ Dear Sir,
There is difference between being Anti India and and being Anti Hindu. I dont mind if some tv personality speaks against India as a nation. But, I have serious issues once you start pointing fingers at people of a particular religion.

There are a lot of good n wholesome shows on Pak TV, I have no doubt about that.........but at the same time, there are some channels that have openly targeted people of a particular religion. That does not suit Pakistan, when Pakistan herself has some many non muslims.

I know Indian serials are full of saas - bahu crap, but You will never find any soap or talk show on Indian TV, in which the host or the guest on the show maligns people of a particular religion.
The "vocabulary" used on these shows is alien to Indian public. I cannot allow non muslims of my country to watch such shows.

Its an open fact, and Pakistan should rectify it, becoz negative spreads million times faster than positive.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

^^ take names of the channels which you have issues with. I know Zaid Hamid is off air for the last year at least, and as I said, try actually watching Pakistani channels before you start commenting on them. But then I can't blame you, your government with support of Indians has banned them.

Watching selective youtube clips is an exercise in ignorance.

The tone on majority Indian channels is very anti-pakistan, you wouldn't find that the case for the major Pakistani channels.

Please deal with your local demons before finger pointing others -- the anti-Pakistan rhetoric has been airing on literally ALL the Indian satellite channels since 1993, and if you even say that was in response to Pakistani content, well there was only PTV back then. You guys have set a really bad precedent and honestly, the Pakistani reaction has been very measured bordering on the non-existent. But then we're not a nation which burns cricket stadiums when we lose a game against India.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

India is way ahead of pakistan in terms of propaganda production.

Some of the indian colleagues after watching begum nawazish ali were of the opinion that its the result of pakistan not allowing women to be on tv :omg:

Now only if they can ban the porn and mujra cds/websites/channels too…

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

I did not mention religion in my last post so I'm guessing you're changing the subject totally because you couldn't find anything wrong with what I said. I don't think you have bothered to watch Pakistani TV and have instead based your opinions by watching youtube clips.

Our public are fed 'Aman Ki Asha' nonsense on a daily basis, I can assure you that Pakistani TV is completely the opposite to what you have described. But why make a false accusation against Pakistan? Doesn't the Hindutva sponsor many Indian TV dramas and films? Why else would every drama and film be so full of Hindu ideologies and worship? It's a total propaganda machine. If there is a religion-obsessed nation out there then it is India. So hard-line are most that even their biggest exports such as Shahrukh Khan are treated like vermin b/c they are not fully Hindu.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

With due respect to krazi mama of 3,

You did not mention religion in your last post, becoz might have not seen TV shows on Channel One. I have see these shows on Channel One. And now these are all over Youtube and Mytube. Youtube did not create these TV shows.

Why do you blame India for "Aman ki bull **** Asha"?? It is a joint "whatever" between Jung and Times of India. Newspaper by the name "Jung" is Co-sponsor of Aman!! If you are fedup with Aman ki Asha, its your problem, becoz its shown on your TV.

What makes you think Hindutva is sponsoring these TV shows???

These shows are made by production houses like Balaji Telefilms etc and are made for audiences of India that are 80% hindu and are in hindi language.

They dont cater to Pakistani or Nepali or Bangladeshi audiences, as these are made for hindu audiences of India.

And NEVER EVER on any Indian Show, you will see any Indian speaking against people of Particular religion.

You are "religion obsessed" becoz you see these dramas as Anti Islam even though they have never said and shown anything against Islam.

There is difference between promoting your own religion and maligning someone elses religion.

ZAkir Naik is free in India to promote his Peace TV becoz he promotes Islam & never maligns hindu religion, so are hindu dramas who "promote" hindu culture.

Its becoz of your insecurity and your fragile belief in Islam, that make you think indian dramas are Anti-Islam.

Who gives a rat ass what a pakistani thinks about Shah Rukh Khan.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

yay! another pakistan vs india fight

stupid.

here is an idea, if you dont like indian tv then DONT WATCH INDIAN TV
if you dont like india then DO NOT SUPPORT INDIAN ITEMS

live and let live!!!!

dont force your opinions and values on others

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

^ Exactly, thats sound perfect. Pakistanis are free to promote their own TV industry even if that means banning Indian TV. They are free to decide, its their choice.

But, claiming Indian dramas are Anti-Islam is a big lie. There is diference between promotion of your own and maligning someone else.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

@Yamaha yes lets get all personal and start insulting everyone that disagrees with your crazy rants. Badtameez. I can also go on Youtube and post all those Indian shows that are anti-pakistani in every sense but why should I waste my time and energy to convince some pathetic person that posts such rubbish on a **Pakistani **forum?

@ytsobe no-one is forcing their opinions on anyone at all. We DONT want to watch Indian dramas hence the ban (clue is in the thread title).

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

Please do not accuse me of getting personal. I'm sorry if you think I did.

If you have guts, please show me any Indian TV show that maligns Islam and muslims or is Anti-Pakistan. Samarqand ki kasam, I'll take all my words back.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

^ Just youtube a programme called 'Jay Hind' which is a pathetic excuse for some Indian channel to throw insults at Pakistan...under the (not so) clever disguise of 'comedy'. This is just the tip of the iceberg - I haven't bothered to watch the other rubbish. Just a glimpse makes me want to vomit.

PS Zaid Hamid is our equivalent of any Shiv Sena member invited to some Indian political talkshow. No-one takes him seriously but one particular channel banks on his controversial persona to increase their TV ratings.

Re: Indian TV channels Has Banned In Pakistan on the orders of the Supreme Court

I just saw a few clips of jay Hind show on IPL controversy. Its a satirical show, in fact they insulted Shilpa Shetty more than they made fun of Pakistani Govt.

Now if someone is a die hard fan of shilpa shetty, surely he or she will get hurt.

These kind of shows exist in all countries in US (Jay Leno show, Letterman, Glen Beck), UK and even Pakistan.

What about the 4 man show in Pakistan? They also make fun and satire on Indian govt. In fact, someone dressed as MK Gandhi (dressed in dhoti and holding stick)was invited on the show. And this fake Gandhi acted funny and stood on chair and table on the show.

Some egomaniac Indian might get hurt by it. Take it easy, its a Satire. There is difference between Insult and Satire. What if, the Jay Hind show invites a fake Jinnah and he acts funny and stands in table and chair........

And ZZH shows are serious shows, those shows are not satire. Not only ZZH, there are many more who point fingers at people of a particular religion. It is alarming that people ignoring it.

Please show me any Indian Show, that maligns Islam and muslims or for that matter any religion.
