u know what i think ppl i think indian movies suck all time. the story line is amostly a rip off of hollywood movies, pathetic dialogues, story lines and to top it all of the directors are keen to focuse the voluptious parts of the female characters and the way they throw themselves on male characters. i would say that hollywood's are any better either but at least their storyline is original, the emotions, feelings, the sensitivities, th endings etc.... are great. as far as the original storyline in indian movies are concerned, id say that Imran Khan has at least tried his best to bring about sumthing new into the bollywood film industry by making lagaan and mangal panday. but the rest of the films in bollywood, well i got to say that they do depict the most unbareable amount of absurdities and retard stuff that one is bound to become a retard if they sit in front of the not-so-necessary idiot box in front of them for 3hrs almost everyday.

hey this is my first post and i would just like to say that there are now some of your american movies dubbed into punjabi and trust me they are funny. Try Shanghai Knights the two characters Butt and Bhatti are truly hilarious got my dvd specially from Pakistan.
By the way the U S of A is not the best country in the world to live in you need a long way to go before you can even match Britain.

It is interesting to see criticism of Mangal Pandey, and indeed of the war of 1857 which had three generals, Nana Phadnavis, Tantiya Tope and Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi fighting to expel the British from the huge empire that they had captured in the subcontinent to make Bahadur Shah Zafar, a devout Muslim, great poet and the last prominent Mughal the emperor of this region. In less than 90 years after that, the British had managed to successfully work out their policy of divide and rule - oh well, this is a thread about Indian films. Does history have to come into it?:D
As someone who lives in the USA and who has lived in several other parts of the world before moving here (and with one Indian and one Pakistani parent to boot:) ) I would happily throw most films from Hollywood as well as from India in the trash. There are exceptions, though, and that is what most people enjoy out of a near assembly line production of hundreds of films in both places every year. That said, there are centres of excellence in film making in some of the strangest of places - Iran for example - where people like Mohsin Makhmalbaf and Tamineh Milani turn out s very small number of superbly crafted films. The Europeans also do a good job in a limited way. Perhaps, when there is focus on quality, only small numbers can be produced and both India and the USA produce a huge number of films that suck because they try and make literally hundreds of them.

Yup, thats fine, but what we really need to do is to look inwards and carve our own unique cultural identity vis a vis entertainment, which should be sophisticated yet very reflective of what we are about.

Don't care for the movies really [desi or nondesi], i like some of their songs though.. when it comes to music videos, I think Pakistan does alot better, they're more creative and just better.. u dont c much originality in Indian music videos, same ol crap.. 1 xception i remember is Kailash Kher's Teri deewani, that was a nice video :)

I have never been able to understand what is meant by PYAAR between a boy and a girl. As soon as someone turns 16 (Or 18, I am not sure), they have to be attracted sexually towards the opposite gender and this sexual attraction has been given the term PYAAR.
Is this the definiton of LOVE or PYAAR. Highly incorrect and wrong display of an emotional behavior that is based on "Love on first sight"
