Re: Indian Baby with 2 faces..
pallav, if you follow that line of thinking then you have to answer this: WHO decides what children/people should live and which ones should be killed out of mercy? And where do you draw the lines? A baby with one arm. Live or die? A baby with thalessemia (which requires blood transfusions on a regular basis) - live or die? A diabetic? I could go on and on and on here. But I think you can get the point. OUR job is not to be judge, jury and executioner. OUR job is to love and cherish ANY offspring that we have been blessed with. We are ALL Gods creatures.
getting all philosophical is one thing, and seeing the reality of life is another. philosophy wont earn her bread and butter, give her a social life without the dose of suprised look and the feeling of pity/disgust/shock.
what if she ends up without any companion?? not being loved by a man(not bro/daddy/friend, but bf/hubby)?? childless?? wont she question why she is so different than the others?? when she grows up a lil, will the other kids go and be-friend with her??? what if she ends up with the tag of a "Witch"(ppl in India get titled a Goddess/God/Godman/Witch/Devil/Satan without any due notice)?? how will her poor parents support her??? what if she ends up in a circus?? or worse, in a lab?? how will she deal with the daily un-wanted media attention she will be getting???
believe me, let her reach 14 or so, and she would herself ask her parents why didnt they kill her when she was born.
I disagree with you. There are alot of people on the face of this earth who are born with something, or develop it later on. Does that mean we need to start killing them? That is not the solution for such situations.
Instead, we should educate our people and people around the world so better solutions can be found for such conditions. I would also disagree with the parents of this baby (if they are not letting doctors come near the baby) because there is nothing wrong with having the baby checked out to see whether there are/can be any complications for the baby in the near future.
it would take more time than the baby's full lifetime to teach ppl to respect the especially talented ppl. and till then, what happens to the baby??? you wont have to face the hardships, but she would have to.
