Thursday May 4, 2006, NEW DELHI: IndiaÂ’s top military strike force backed by aircraft were practicing lightning attacks aimed at slicing Pakistan in half in the event of actual war, officials said on Wednesday.
“The manoeuvres are being held in stages and they will culminate on May 19 in a theatre of 10 to 15 square kilometres,” Indian army spokesman Colonel SK Sakuja said.

The mock battles, codenamed Sangha Shakti (Joint Power), involve more than 40,000 soldiers from IndiaÂ’s 2nd Strike Corps, accounting for almost 50 percent of the countryÂ’s million-plus armyÂ’s cross-border strike capability, Sakuja said. He confirmed that the three-week exercises were being conducted near PakistanÂ’s borders in Jullandhar district, in northern Punjab.

Military commanders said that India had alerted Islamabad in advance about the exercises as part of a bilateral military accord. The spokesman said that a “mixed compliment” of transport and Indian Air Force strike aircraft were backing Sangha Shakti, which represented one of the biggest war games in recent years carried out on Pakistan’s militarised borders.

“This will put to test our 2004 war doctrine to dismember a not-so-friendly nation effectively and at the shortest possible time but since my statement is not politically-friendly I would not like to be identified,” a commander told AFP in a veiled reference to Pakistan. AFP

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

^^ Bharatis will never accept Pakistan's existence.

We ought ot increase our tax base so that we could "eventually" increase our defense budget to at least $10 billion.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Yeah this was an interesting report yesterday.
A Pakistan Army officer from the ISPR conveniently criticized the rather wrong timing and not so perfect choice of words by India;

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Typical Bharti mentality, that Indian spokesman must have been inspired by a bollywood flick.
Afterall only one of their actor was good enough to beat pakistani army and single handedly destroyed them:hehe: . Indians seem to have lots of such clowns:)

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

I suppose we're going to see some more IAF plane crashes in the news soon enough.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

:rotfl: :rotfl:
retards. thats the only place they will ever be able to slice Pakistan - in a bollywood movie, or in an airshow.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

baha-rat-i faujis are 'zananiz'...

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Oh how soon we forget 1971!

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

1971 was a good one baboo! We never forgot. In fact the trouncing in 1971 followed by 1974 Nuke test, was really humiliating.

Thanks to Indira and Bharati policies, we started a race and consumed so many precious resources in the region.

BDesh is still poor and in fact they chopped up their "founder". Not just him, but the whole family was chopped up. If Indira was around, she would have been chop-chop too.

In East Pakistan, Mujib was a national leader,
while in BDesh he was just a pile of minced meat.
I am sure Mujib sits in heaven and thanks Bharatis and Bengalis every minute of every hour of every day.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

In the event of a war, Indians will lose.. no doubts. wars are fought with courage and bravery and that Indians lack a lot.. They dont have the Jazba and Junoon to even fight a small insurgency in their country.. Plus this time China and USA will also attack them the moment they'll attack us.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Aaaahmm! in the event of war, the whole region will lose. We all will go from bustling cities down to the nuked out $hite holes.

USA and China? Oh Baba! they will stay on the side lines as long as their shipping lanes are safe. Anyone who touches those sea-lanes will be spanked (whether Bharat or Pakistan).

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

speaking of reality, when pentagon did the same thing (electronic mock exercise) as indian are doing now, 40 out of 40 times india went to iran's border and conflict turned nuclear. so nationalism is one thing but dont mix it with reality, dont take me wrong i love pakistan but reality is reality.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

I wish we could of had a chance to kick some bharti arse... Slice my foot@!

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Hey buddy, all the armies do such exerciese, and I am sure Pakistan army would have done this as well every year...
It actually a stupid Indian army man who goes and speaks to media..... :)

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Danial putter.. dont forget what Field Marshal Ayub Khan said, "As long as the ratio is 4:1 (Indian to Pakistani soldiers in number) I am not at worried.". If you look at the strength of the army, Pakistan's is amlost half of India but we can still win any war with India. Indians lack the winning edge and physically 1/2 of an average Pakistani.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

^ and you know what happened to the 1st armoured division?

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Height of over confidence - After loosing war after war, still say we can win any war with India. LOL
If Pakistan is so much confident then why do you count on China and US coming for the recue.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Over confidence???.....say "height of arrogance or ego".

Besides, let them feel proud of their physical strength....even though it is their 'assumption'...because in todays world what is improtant is "avionics, advanced materials, fly-by-wire or rather technology" that is important....it is these things that decide more than anything else.

Re: Indian Army practices slicing Pakistan apart

Singh saab, physical strength does matter! Back in 1971 just before the war started, BBC did an analysis of Pakistan vs Indian troops and they like everybody else, believed that the Indian army is much better equipped but Pakistani army was stronger owing to its soldiers who were way taller, muscular and better fighters over all.. Sadly, gaddar quam #1 Bengalis changed the course of the battle.
