***INDIA VS PAKISTAN*** (The militaary build up)

Are we strong enough to face India?

http://a740.g.akamai.net/f/740/606/1d/image.pathfinder.com/time/2002/kashmir/images/militarystats.gif

no matter how strong India look like as far as the "numbers" are concerned...but i know one thing...India doesnt have what it takes to face Pakistan!

May Allah bless our country (Aameen)

As might be expected from an Indian source, this information is wrong.

Pakistan has 20 AH-1 Cobra Helicopter Gunships, as well as MI-17 helicopters that can be used as gunships if need be.

And this post dramatically underestimates the number of armed helicopters that India has.

I agree with mad scientists! No mention of Cobra gunship helicopters Pakistan has!

ok i guess!!!!

These numbers tell nothing. Intelligence will be everything if there is a confrontation. Who cares how many tanks a country has, or even what type they are, if you know exactly where and when they are deployed, even a small force can defeat a larger one. A few satellite photos might find their way into Mr Musharraf's offices late one night, and he would know what to do with them.

dirty dawg, comparing the size of indian troops to the pakistani troops is a big joke, taking that their population is 4 times pakistan's population.
certainly, if you go back into the history books and read about wars between ancient civilization and even till this century, you can see that disadvantaged sides have won many wars.

Thank you, come again

how can they hope to win any war? look at their flag compared to ours. theirs is mediocre while ours shines and twinkles like the moon and star itself.

well guys this is one thing that Pakistan has a small army but the other thing is they care more about government than the stuff they need to care. while they are in each department of Pakistan how can they fight a war.. Pakistani military just know how to take over government.. and while they are doing that i don think they would be able to fight a good war if they have to(God forbid).

All's i know is, if this India/Pakistan thing goes nuclear, we're all screwed. Conventional forces dont mean squat

Well said dirty_dawg.

While Indians are readying for war, Pakistan Army officers are sitting in Wapda checking meters.

Looking at these statistics....even in a conventional war, the general 2:1 ratio in India's favour is no great advantage. The Pakistan army is recognised as having far greater mobility and is composed of compact yet sizable fighting battalions.

The size of Pakistan is also to it’s advantage, with much better lines of communication than in 1971, moving troops and supplies to the front lines is a much more efficient process than in India.

Considering the nuclear scenario, undoubtedly both nations would suffer extremely heavy losses. However, there would be a greater chance of survivability for India in the event of an all out mutual attack. A major consideration for both countries is the weather…..prevailing monsoon winds in the winter season blowing from north to south would favour Pakistan as any fallout from even Indian attacks would be blown over the Deccan area back in India. However, an attack on India during the summer would increase chances of fallout in northern areas of Pakistan.

Sorry for going on.

One final point, the close proximity and tensions with India has forced Pakistan into a strange predicament, for it’s size and fiscal restraints it is without doubt one of the most modern, capable and largest armies in the world. However, unless it goes to war with India is this spending justified?….I’m sure this is on the Pakistans CE’s mind.

Wht the hell is our army what do they know abt WAPDA.. they are tought to hold a gun and kill or get killed they are not tought how to distribute energy.. The army ppl doesnt know any thing.. WAPDA isnt corrupt but the ppl who own big business are.. they dont pay for the energy that wapda supply them and when any engineer or some one else from wapda tries to do something abt them they call their connections .. Nawaz sharif or some other stupid ppl and either those engineer are transfered to other places or they are told to shut up, by their higher athorities..
the power that army has if that kind of power is given to our engineers wapda would be much better... Army seems effective because they have the gun and they dont have to answer any authorities.. as a matter effect they are the authorities. Army rules our countries and have all the privilages which are spose to be given to our ppl.
thats all i have to say

Just to put the people at ease, Pakistan armed forces are there for a defensive purpose – not for initiating and taking over countries.

In a conventional war both sides will incur heavy losses. However, India has a lot more to lose than Pakistan in the long term because of the damage to their infrastructure. Pakistan has enough and capable missiles to cause a lot of damage inside India.

I believe, the Indian airforce advantage is neutralized, because they cannot fly every single aircraft into Pakistan at the same time. Hence PAF can cope in a defensive posture.

Even though small in number, the Pakistan army is well trained and can handle incursions. They have enough anti tank and heavy armour ammo to handle themselves adequately.

They even marked the spot in the flag for aiming.

A Muslim brother wakes up saying Allah's name 1st, and if they wake up and say salam to thr cows and hand made idols who knows the results can be different.
