Superb innings by KP which essentially took India out of the game. If England's lead was close to 300 I think India would have gone for it but KP with a brilliant century took the lead well beyond that and 380 is a tricky score for India to think about getting. It's certainly not out of reach but I doubt India would go for it, I think they would be playing for a draw. There's about 40 odd overs remaining today and the whole day of tomorrow so time is not an issue. If India can get a decent start and are about 70-80 without any wickets down then they should and I think they would go for the target. Any early wickets and Indian batsmen would go in a shell and probably crumble under pressure eventually.
Big 4 of india have chance to play gr8 inning and get India to their 2nd victory at Lords, but as many time we have seen in past that they crumble in 4th inning. Tendu, dada and laxman have chance to prove critics wrong, still the big question is will they be able to do it or same old story again.
I was just going to say it looks like a promising start. England on top at Lords at the moment, it would take monumental effort from India to come back into this game.

135 overs is too many overs to play for draw. If you can bat that many overs then you will end up making 380. Indra(Rain God) is India's only hope for draw.
India have lost one wicket too many with still over 270 odd to win. After this pair Laxman is the last of the recignised batsman. They can still pull it off but it is an uphill task. Karthik and Ganguly were well set but they have to start fresh tomorrow and concentrate really hard. The objective for India should be to take it session by session. They key would now be to preserve wickets. There is 90 over in the day to score the 270 odd runs so there is plenty of time but a couple of wickets would expose the tail and India wouldnt want that to happen with too many runs on the board. The two batsman out there and Laxman will have to take them within a 70-80 runs if not all the way. Dhoni has been out of sorts on this tour so cant caount much on him but you never no with Dhoni. A couple of lusty blows and he might get his confidence back and score a quick fire 40-50. So while England still holds the advantage India certainly isnt totally out of it yet.

Good analysis but I will be surprised if Indians score more than 250. I want to be proven wrong but knowing Indians I am pretty sure of what will be happen.

yeah thats pretty much what everyone is predicting....
someones gotta pull a kevin peiterson, but chances of tht happening now are very low, too bad, yuvi, one guy capable of doing that isnt playing in this test match
im going to be looking at karthick to pull something special
^Dravid got a bad decision.
And I don't have much confidence in Ganguly.
I was hoping Tendulkar will prove us all wrong, and play a KP type innings for once. But he established once again he is a fair-weather batsman. He fell to Monty which is unpardonable given that this is hardly a spinner's wicket.
