India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

As per our bangla friends, over in the other forum , there is a 90% likelihood of the game being washed out.

Anyways, if the game happens - would like to see India bat first. Would be interesting to see what kind of total they put up.

Go India.

After introduction of Dinesh Mongia and R. Powar…over-weight players are visible on field :halo:

It’s better to be over than under…speaking strictly in cricketing terms, of course.

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

Zaheer Khan has always perplexed me. He is one of those bowlers, who gives you the feeling that he is talented but somehow he never seems to step over the line that separates the mediocres from the greats.

Munaf Patel, on the other hand, appears to have nailed the phrase "good line and length" into his head. He maintaines the same line and length ball after ball..over after over....no variety at all....nothing to surpise the batsman with. He has also cut down on his speed. In his debut series against England - I remember him bowling good bouncers at will. He hardly seems to do that anymore.

As far as Sreesanth goes - After an initial show of promise, he appears to be riding on his chutzpah more than talent.

Finally, one would think Shastriji is analytical enough to have figured out Tamim Iqbal by now....the guy has limited shots....doesn't have the best of footwork....charges down the wicket at least once every two overs - yet Indian bowlers seem clueless against him.

India could soon take a lead in cricketing innovation by employing two wicket-keepers instead of the traditional one in One-day Internationals, with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik being part of the move.

Cricket manager Ravi Shastri gave a strong hint here that when the conditions are hot and tough, as they were during Thursday’s first One-day International here, India could ask Dhoni and Karthik to share wicket-keeper’s duties - a ‘first’ of its kind.

It, however, remains to be seen if Dhoni is as good in the outfield as he is behind the wickets. Perhaps, India could try Dhoni elsewhere in the field in the third One-day International in Chittagong if they win the second match here Saturday to wrap up the series 2-0. (Yahoo Cricket - India)

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

There was a time when India used Dravid as the Wicket keeper so as to include an extra batsman. Now we have to include an extra Wicket-keeper to do the batting....

As I have been saying...we might as well also use Wicket Keeper Number 3 - Pathiv Patel - he has batted better (against tougher opponents) than the Gambhirs and Uthappas.

Match curtailed due to rain.
As per Cricbuzz : The official word is that play will start at 10:00 local time, 9:30 IST, 4:00 GMT..

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

Am I the only one following an India-BD match on a friday evening....

Man...I need a life..

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

who's the white guy commentating, he seems like an indian supporter er endorsed supporter should I say...lol.

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

I would have rather prefered Dhoni as a runner. Him and Dravid would have made a good combination in running between the wickets. This Sehwag, why on earth does he exist?

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

Allow me to digress (for a fairly good reason)

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

India has made a habit of squandering away good starts.
At one time 320+ looked a real possibility. Now they will be lucky to get to 280.

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

Complete harakiri...

Now they should just try to last until the end of 49 overs.

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

I am not sure why Zaheer Khan is not sent up the order.
He is a better slogger than these guys (Powar, Chawla, Karthik )

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

SHAMEFUL....UJTTERLY SHAMEFUL

I hope India loses...so the true quality of the team is yet again exposed.

But I have feeling, India will still win....and that is not good for India's long term future.

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

See...what I said about Zaheer..
Got to play only 4 balls...yet scored 2 boundaries.

I think he is very under-rated as a hard-hitting slog-overs batsman. How Chawla/Pawar can be sent before him , when only 3-4 overs are left, is beyond me.

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

Looks like I am talking to myself here...
Anyways...good night folks (I mean those in the US of A)...time to hit the bed.

Re: India vs BD - 2nd ODI, Mirpur - May 12

284/8 off 49 overs. Should win from here.
