Aus 259/5
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
Indian attack is toothless. None of the bowlers maintained the line and length, and pitched all over the place. They are lucky they got 5 out; the kinda tail enders Australia has, we are looking at another 500+ inning here.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
I don't know about that. Didn't watch the whole game. But what title I watched the bowlers did all right. Stevens Smith seems to be a big India kilker
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
It has been a mixed performance by India so far. Call it pure bad luck or a mental barrier (against Australia in Australia, most teams are not immune to this!) but India had their moments in both the previous two test matches but they failed to seize them and hence find themselves trailing 2-0 down in the series.
India should have won the first test. I have not watched any cricket matches recently because of the tragedy in Peshawar, but looking at the scorecard of the second test (Brisbane), India after making 400+ themselves allowed Australia to score 505 despite having reduced them to 247/6! That is where the game was lost i.e. India's inability to finish off the tail cost them the game. Australia lost 6 wickets in the 4th innings while making 130, so another 75-100 runs would have made the chase on the final day interesting.
Honours even after day one of the third test.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
Australia 530
India 6/0
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
The tail wagged big time for the Aussies. While Steve the India Killer Smith scored 192.
Saw the Indian batting. Dhawan played well. Got out to an excellent catch at 3rd slip by Smith. Pujara got a life. Sitter dropped by Haddin off Hazelwood.
Vijay on 54. Absorbed a lot of pressure. Abt 104 for 1.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
The Aussies appeal for everything. Including ball.pitched wide of off stump off Lyons. A sweep off the bat for lbw. A thick inside edge for lbw. And the Aussie commentators keel saying good shout. What the heck is a good shout when it is not even close.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
@ GA - In first two Tests multiple LBW shouts were denied for both teams. Hence cancelled out.
4 clear not outs went against India in first Test. Else India a tally would have chased the total.down.
Two not outs given against India in Test 2. Else india draws that test.
Star player - Ian Gould.
Yes india shoukd have drs. But there is no excuse for blatant bias in the calls. ALL.wrong decisons went against india. Forget abt close calls.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
^Correct.
But in addition to it,there is no excuse for the defeat in the first test.Batsmen just threw away wickets in an irresponsible fashion. Saha ,Rohit and Kohli did it .We could have won that match easily ,had these players hung in there ,despite umpires fault.
The unbelievable collapse in the first test took it's drastic toll on everyone.Had we won there,it would have given a great morale booster aswell as enough impetus for a second test win.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
Rahane departs after a heroic innings. India 409/4 .Kohli is at the crease with a beauty 140.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne

Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
The same story is about to happen? ![]()
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
Gigantic Kohli on 147.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
Dhoni gone..
Kohli's 150 is up.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
Yaars ,one more down..
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
India trail by 94 runs with 3 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
Shmi and Kohli t the crease.Shami can play a good innings.
But more importantly,he should not throw away his wicket soon.He just needs to hang on and on.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
Rahane given out lbw when clearly not out. This is becoming par for the course. Thankfully only one wicket so far has been gifted.tonthe Aussies. Great innings by Rahane and Kohli. Kohli out in last over of the day. Two out of this world catches by Haddin.
Swamy holding his end of the bargain. Maybe umesh and Swamy swat the ball around a bit tomorrrow

I agree with you Indian attack is very bad.
Re: India Vs Australia,Third Test @ Melbourne
Time and again India have batted well in this series but it is the bowling that has been found wanting on so many occasions. Again there was a late middle order collapse after Kohli-Rahane epic partnership. But India's biggest weakness is the bowlers' inability to finish off the tail. Australia got way too many runs (530) in the first innings after being 5 down for 216 at one stage. When the latter half of the opponents batting is consistently making more runs than the top 5 or 6 batsmen then you need to Q your toothless attack. Same happened in the second test. So despite making close to 500 in the first innings, India could still lose this game. Must find better pacers for overseas tours.
