this is the best India has. as a matter of fact this is the best pace attack in Indian cricket history..and if it is not good enough, then.............oh well bhagwan ko call karna paray ga
hard to admit it being a pakistani cricket fan but it is a fact that somehow india has created a proper rivalry with Australians and it is fun to watch these 2 teams competing (despite the fact India has lost 6 test matches in a row in aus.)....both teams has so much history, which started with that dravid/lakshman test match in early 2000 and all of this is fascinating for a cricket fan
i would even say that it is much more fun to watch an india/Aus test match vs watching an Aus/Pak test match. It is because over last 15 years India has many aggressive exciting players who were superstars and wanted to do well in Aus i.e. tendulkar, dravid, ganguly, lakshman, dhoni and now Kohli is leading the pack both with mouth and the bat.
Pak on the other end lacks superstars in last 10 years or so...even Pakistani fans have trouble remembering their team players name. the only real superstar in this team is afridi but he does not play test cricket. Back in 80/90s we had a superstar-laden team (zaheer, miandad, imran, majid, musthaq, sarfraz, qadir and then wasim, waqar, saqi, saeed anwar, inzi etc) and indians had a real dull/boring team.,,
What yaars...Some or the other way India's any opponent, whether it is Aus or Eng or even Kenya, will have some saviours whether it is is in Test or ODI.
I enjoyed Kohli and Rahane's aggression against Johnson.
To me it seemed in another way.You are down under 2-0,you played some idiotic irresponsible cricket in the first test and caused the team a defeat from a sure win situation, not been able to wrap up the opponent's tail enders(thus you got your rear whipped off royally) and now you are performing all `monkey tricks' in the field. All these aggression would have been enjoyable had they won atleast the first test.
So far the umpiring has not unduly influenced the game. Though Rahane LBW off Lyons was given with ball clearly pitched outside the off stump. (I hate that rule - if ball huts stump should be out). And Rahane was going gang busters. That dismissal catalyzed a collapse.
From here on, if umpiring is fair, India draws or wins. Guruvayurappa willing. Going to be fun. That's why Test cricket is the best. This series is much closer than the score.
Well, Indians shouldnt complaint about Umpiring. They are the only country not only opposing DRS but also putting political and economic pressure on ICC to force the decision

Yeah.. close to 400, but not over 400. I don't think any team has chased down 400 in the 4th inning to win a match. But I see what Jack Sparrow means. If the total is too big, the Indians might just decide to play for a draw.
No I think around 360 should be enough. They have to declare in one hour max to make it interesting. And they wont be able to score fast with early day swing
For once, Smith should take a page from Misbah's book. Ask your batsmen to stay in the middle as long as they could. Don't let the possibility of a successful chase remain in the equation. You are leading the series 2-0. There is no point taking undue risks.

Why declare, draw is enough for aus to win the series. And we were being told that India was going to whitewash the Aussies. Only one team can do that. :)
