Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

Tendulkar has 42 hundreds and 89 fifties. 17 times he has fallen in the 90s. So even if he had converted only half of those nineties he would have passed fifty hundreds in ODIs by now.... Amazing!!

India lost their way slightly towards the end. Their final score of 258/9 was below-par considering they were 175/3 after 35 overs. 83 runs off the last 15 overs is modest by one-day standards.

Infact they managed just 51 off the last 10 overs. 80 runs is probably what a good side should score in the last 10 overs with 6 wickets in hand. It did not matter in the end but given the nail-biting finish those 20-30 runs might have proved costly on another day.

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

Yes had he converted the 90's into 100's than this record may never have be broken. Even his 42 hundreds will be difficult to break and it will require a special player to do that.

I am very disappointed. Symonds was too generous with this retard. lohay kee garma garam sulaakh say koolay pe maarna chahiye aisay retards kay

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

On the other hand, if India had posted a 300 total Aussies would have played very differently. The 250 260 range lulled them into a false sense of comfort

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

Weird how match referee hasn't charged symonds with physical abuse against a spectator, I remember in the commentary, they showed the rule and was clearly outlined in ICC code of conduct. I dont think im going over the top when I say, if it was bhajji in that situation, the police would be taking him away and gora Jeff Crowe would charge him to the highest degree.

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

thats what i think...this is perfect example which signifies ICC bias....

if symonds get booked for this offense...it is bye bye to his career.

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

Symonds should be rewarded (not charged) for helping security officials deal with this nangaa idiot.

That said, there has been some news about the possibility of the "streaker" filing a case against Symonds, but as per the Aussie media, Symonds' position is pretty strong on two counts :
(1) The nangaa *was clearly trespassing.
(2) Symonds can claim he did that in self-defence as the *nangaa
was running towards him.

Regardless, it was a treat to watch the muscular Symonds non-chalantly bringing down a seemingly well-built streaker with one flex of the shoulder. The Indian players seemed to have enjoyed it as much (some can be seen high-fiving each other).

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

Huge crowds turned out at New Delhi’s Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium on Thursday to greet the Indian cricket team on their return to India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) felicitated the players at a special function at the Stadium for winning the tri-series for the first time in Australia.

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

Just got the time t watch these videos. How come they waited so long and referred to 3rd umpire for the Hussey wicket? As the commentator said umpires understood how crucial that wicket was and were trying ensure there was no error.

Now, would they have done it for anyother team?

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

never but then the way commentators played out that incident was interesting. they said umpires don't want to rule in fav/against any of the team to change the outcome of the match.

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

Yeah I noticed that too. Don't want to sound too cynical but it was almost like the third umpire was desperate to give the benefit of any kind of doubt to the batsman. Maybe he was clear in his mind after watching one replay but was just waiting to hear the other commentators' judgements to see if there was any doubt about the dismissal so he could just pounce on it and rule in Hussey's favour.

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

^The only doubt in the field Umpire's (Tufnel's) mind was whether the catch had carried to Dhoni - so he asked for the third Umpire's help.

The Third Umpire though went one step beyond what was requested - and also asked for the snickometer to confirm that there was an edge....and then took an inexplicably long time to(reluctantly perhaps) declare Hussey out.

If my memory serves me right, earlier in the Test Series -- there was one occasion when the Third Umpire did in fact give a wrong decision (against India). I think it had to do with stumping.

One of the Aussie commentator rightly said -- "How can a third Umpire give a wrong decision, all he does is watch TV".

Re: India Vs Australia, 2nd Final at Brisbane, 4th March 2008

^that was the sydney test, I dont think I can ever forget that test match. Infact there was another stumping against the same player that was out, but did not even go to the 3rd umpire because bucktooth umpire didnt feel it was necessary.

Also about the hussey dismissal, don't know what the idiot was thinking, but snickometer is nowhere near foolproof! All Taufel wanted to see whether the catch was taken cleanly.
