arrey vah...so much hatred, where does it come from? all the indians i know root for pakistan against australia.
Pathan and Harbhajan putting up a good fight....but i don't see it lasting very long. huge six by Bajji to Warne...nice
what a horrible performance. all the top order batsmen should have their match fees revoked for not even showing up to play. indian A team should play the 2nd test.
at least some last minute entertainment for the Bangalore crowd
Pathan smashes three 4’s and a monstrous 6 into the second tier of the stadium within 1.5 overs…reaches his first Test 50. :k:
Bajji doing well too
1 4 . . . 6 | . . . . 1 . | 4 . 4 . 4 . | . 1 . 6 2 . | . 4
where the hell was this at the beginning of the innings? ![]()
76.5 Lehmann to Pathan, two runs, fifty! pushed well wide of the cover
fielder, comfortable two, excellent innings, well played young man
JEETA RAHAY MERA SHER -- ---
83.3 Gillespie to Pathan, OUT: edged and gone! excellent line and
length, very close the off stump line and moving away late, Pathan
had to play at it, regulation nick and an easy catch, Gillespie
finally gets the breakthrough, end of a fine innings
Zaheer enters and promptly smacks three 4's
1 more wicket and this test is over :(
Harbhajan out
India all out for 239
Excellent work by the Aussies :k:
pitiful display from Indian top order
![]()
87.4 Gillespie to Harbhajan Singh, OUT: the inevitable! short delivery,
pulled straight down the throat of McGrath at fine leg
India 239/10, Partnership of 25
Harbhajan Singh c McGrath b Gillespie 42 (67b 7x4 1x6)
Z Khan 22* (20b 4x4) JN Gillespie 14.4-4-33-3
Australia win by 217 runs!!!!
Indian tailenders put up a spirited fight but the result was a foregone conclusion....
In the end a massive win for Australia (as if someone expected some other result)
well played aussies....
and india, keep it up.... :D
Thsi is really a pathetic display by the Indian batting line up. It showed no resolve, no fight, just a meek surrender. Matches are won and lost all the time but with a batting line up like India's this is just not acceptable. Shame on these so called stars, maybe too much money and fame has gone to their head.
Well played Australia.
Maybe time to look at John Wright in light of events since the Indo/Pak series.
^ In addition to that, Indians have been following a one-dimensional plan. Both in tests and one dayers they bank on their strength (batting) which is perfectly fine. But when other teams work it out or their batsmen struggle they have no where to hide.
Hope to see a better performance in chennai. Hats off ot Harbhajan for a splendid performance with ball and some resolve shown by Dravid and Pathan.

perhaps, but i also think Ganguly needs to know he must step it up and get the team in shape, or else he will be sacked. i think he has gotten too comfortable and feels too secure. i agree with you about the meek surrender, with the exception of the 9th wicket stand between Pathan and Harbhajan. it was phenomenal.
although it doesn't seem like it, i have a feeling India will do much better in the coming Tests, especially if Sachin comes back. i think the morale he will bring with him will be more valuable and produce better results than his individual scores (which i do not expect to be very high considering his injury)
this is the best birthday gift i can get ![]()
He probably is not going to come back for the whole series.
Frankly speaking, it is a good chance for Indians to strategize themselves to win matches without tendulkar. Plus tendulkar has hardly 2 more years of cricket left in him…I mean he has already played tough 15 seasons of international cricket (debutant of 1989).
In addition, Indians cannot whine much about Tendulkar’s absence as Aussie’s champion master blaster Rick Ponting is also sitting out because of an injury. So it is a fair deal for both teams.
I guess Indians have to realize that they still lack a penetrative fast bowling attack. Pathan is a gem but he is always at his best against teams like Pakistan who do not know how to play even a marginal swing bowling. However, time after time we have seen that against teams like Aus and England, who are adept in playing swing, he appears to be far less dangerous. It is because he lacks the sheer pace in his bowling. But still he is an extremely intelligent bowler who will only get better as the time passes but he needs a second hand really bad. Zaheer khan is dead (he was never alive at the first place) and Nehra and Agarkar are only good enough for certain hours on a given day. The can produce one or two good spells once in a while but that is about it. I am afraid that Indians would end up over-using pathan as they did srinath and kapil dev. It would only result in cutting down the career of Pathan. I still do not understand why India can not produce a genuine fast bowler. And I am not trying to be sarcastic. I am truly confused.
Sehwag fined for dissent](BBC SPORT | Cricket | Other International | Sehwag fined for dissent)
India batsman Virender Sehwag has been fined about £1,400 after criticising an umpire’s decision during the first Test against Australia.
Sehwag was seen exchanging words with umpire Billy Bowden and the Australian players after being given out leg-before off Glenn McGrath on Saturday.
TV replays showed Sehwag gained an inside edge onto his pad, which Bowden failed to spot.
“Sehwag pleaded guilty of the charge,” said match referee Ranjan Madugalle.
"This offence falls under level two of the ICC code of conduct.
“And after due consideration of the evidence, circumstances and the player’s previous disciplinary record, I have fined him 65% of his fees.”
Madugalle said Sehwag had apologised during the hearing on Saturday evening which was also attended by India captain Sourav Ganguly and umpires Bowden and Steve Bucknor.
Indians get a couple of unlucky decisions over a course of 5 days and they have a hissy fit.
Were they looking for another 300 by Sehwag? Talk about shifting the blame.
On a side note, Pak suffers at the hands of umpires CONSISTENTLY every ODI and Test.
so true man
A bowler (pathan) is out on a questionable decision and Sehwag. Thats not something to cry about. It happens, its a part of sports.
Remember when BOTH Youhana and Inzi were given blatantly wrong outs by Shepard against the Aussies a while back. We would have easily won that game if it were’nt for those decisions. I did’nt here a peep out of cricinfo after that happened. And now they are bleeding left and right like someones been killed by the umpires, EZ u know
You are so spot on with this comment.
Pathan needs support, he can’t do everything by himself. Even he has only ever bowled well against us ( because of our opernors problems playing the swinging ball ). England, the Aussies even Lanka have handled him just fine.
I’m really suprised they did’nt play Agarkar, he bowled really well in Oz, to bench him now is a mistake I think. Especially for a bowler like Jaheer Khan who is blatantly mediocre.
