Feeling the heat. He, alongwith his other mates, were obvious to face it !
Was very aggressive with Harsha but as soon as Nasser comes to the commentary box, it was difficult to hear his 'sissy' voice ! Infact I had to raise the volume ! LOL
And I don't know why Sunny is even allowed to air his opinion. He doesn't deserve to be a commentator !
Just when Praveen beat the outside egde of Bresnan with the new ball, Sunny goes mad !
That has been taken.
This should be out.
This has to be out.
Poor fella soon realized that even Praveen wasn't as excited as him !
**Praveen bowled well the new ball. Sreesanth supported him well but the least about the rest, the better !
417 runs in a day, more than 50 boundaries in a day, you have got to be kidding !
Bell is such a fine and under rated cricketer ! He proved me wrong when before the start of the series, I compared Laxman and him and rated the former ahead of the latter EASILY ! Sorry dude, I was so wrong but yeah Laxman is a good test player too and ahead of you but not EASILY !
What class innings played by Bell. It was soothing to watch him scoring flurry of boundaries. Never looked like getting out whole day today ! He is a fine no.3 player ! Negotiates the new ball exceptionally well !
Prior had different plans maybe ! He has ATTACKED right from the word 'go' ! KP-ish inning so far ! The way he comes forward and flicks the ball to mid wicket and fine leg, pretty much KP-ish ! Bresnan complementing him well !**
Lately Sunny has turned into a pro-indian cheerleader and his commentary is too one-sided but he was n’t like this always :D. At times he acts like a grumpy old man (but still better than Ian Chappell IMO).
Usually though Gavaskar is right on the money and stands up for sub-continental teams
Wow Awesome Sachin n Dravid need to score centuries here if India has to win
As GA points out, both Gavaskar and Vishwanath scored hundreds. That may have been the only time the two "little masters" scored centuries in the same inning.
Re: Gavaskar, before his captaincy, India was too docile vs. England/Australia. Gavaskar showed that we did not have to be docile and asserted our rights. During those days, England used to play negative cricket. Gavaskar beat them in their own game by boring folks to tears with his defensive approach.
Recently when an umpire asked Ponting if his fielder had taken a catch cleany, and gave an Indian batsman out, Gavaskar took the umpire and Ponting to task.
Overall, I like Gavaskar's commentary. He is authentic, does not put on a false accent, and calls it as he sees it. I like Shiva (Laxman Sivaramakrishnan) also. And of course Holding.
Sastry on the other hand, rubs me the wrong way with his put on accent.
^ Agreed. Dont know what happened earlier. Looks like Nasser (whose commentary I like) used disgrace in some context?
It is clearly a case of choosing your words wisely on national TV. Nasser was wrong to use that word. If he had said wrong or something similar no-one would have taken offence
Now consider the following
India's refusal of the ball-tracking technology is a disgrace
India were wrong to refuse the ball-tracking technology
Both statements are essentially saying the same thing but 1 is offensive

Inida's stance on technology is more like a stubborn attitude of a rich kid. Harbajjan's dismissal serves them right and I wouldn't be surprised if eventually they give in and accept technology as the way forward. They are using their muscle in the wrong areas.
The fact that Indians like Shastri harp about the number one status and the money in IPL is a typical a$$hole attitude. When people dish them back on the field (current Test series) and off the field then they call others jealous. Classy number one teams don't perform like this one. If it were a Pskistani team, we wouldn't have made any excuses about our sub par cricket.
This is a stupid stupid comment by Shastri. I heard Nasser’s comment and he was not far off the mark. Shastri thinks whole world is jealous of BCCI or India’s number 1 ranking then he should keep his mouth shut.
Fayz, I agree with a lot of what you said there - stubborn is the right word here - but the Aussies were even more arrogant IMO. Look at the likes of Steve and Mark Waugh, Ponting, Symonds, Warne and Hayden. I only liked Gilchrist. He was a gentleman.
I admire the all-conquering West Indies sides of the late 70s-late 80s. Simply awe-inspiring stuff... you look at Viv Richards, Greenidge, Clive Lloyd, Haynes, Holding, Marshall, Garner, Roberts, Ambrose etc. There was an aura about them. But despite all that more often than not they played the game in the right spirit.
Arjun, like a few others, is not pleased: "This is a throwback to the 90's India tigers at home , pussy cats abroad, jumping and fending at decent fast bowling. This England attack is not the Windies of the 80's, and this Indian lineup with over 40K runs in tests should have no reason to be at 55/6, utterly embarrassing, but dhoni and the BCCI deserve it to gt a kick up their backside to conjure up better itineraries. this would also provide fuel to Fletcher to stamp his signature on the side and effect some changes. i suspect he has gone with the don't fix what is not broken mantra thru the windies tour."
