India to play role in Afghanistan

Well put!

Afghanis are in trouble due to their OWN uncivilized aka tribal way of life. They themselves are responsible for their predicament.

Us Pakistanis too have a dismal record when it comes to helping Afghanis inside Afghanistan. We should have been sending doctors and teachers. Instead we are sending and supporting suiciders and warlords and terrorists.

Re: India to play role in Afghanistan

so let's see: it is perfectly fine for Pakistan to seek active role in Afghanistan because it is strategic to them. Now why wouldn't the same reason apply for Indians as well? It is not Pakistan's call to make, what sort of relationship India and Afghanistan work toward.

As to accepting refugees, we did accept some 3M+ refugees from Pakistan when we had to. Right now we are housing a large number of Sri Lankan refugees. For a poor country such as India which does not get any significant foreign aid, this combined with the construction projects gifted to Afghanistan, is a pretty big contribution.

I agree with you. Please answer the following question.

Does pakistan have any problem if Afghanistan wants to have an alternative lifeline.... via Iran????

If afghnistan wants its basic food stuff to advance equipment to be shipped via Iran as well does Pakistan have any problem with it????

Cultutal and religious linkages??????? Deoband Dar-ul-Uloom inspired the Taliban movement. The Deobandi interpretation holds that a Muslim's first loyalty is to his religion and only then to the country of which he is a citizen.

FYI, Deobandis Dar-ul-Uloom is headquatered in Deoband Uttar Pradesh of India.

I think you dont know the religious demographics of the sub continent. Please dont insult your intelligence by posting such comments....you can only impress people like you in this forum.

learn more about Deoband , you can google "deoband" on google, you will get the website and do not choose the hindi option of viewing the website choose english.

Re: India to play role in Afghanistan

India only has 1 role to play in Afghanistan, and that is to build more roads and get out once the job is done.

Extension beyond that role (a.k.a. sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan) will land them in sidelining not only in any future role in Afghanistan, but a role in stability of Asia, for they're seen as instigators of almost all conflicts in their neighboring nations.

India should reflect on its actions, actions of its rogue intelligence wing, and clamp down on hindutva terrorists operating within the country's political system under various party titles. Afghanistan does not rely on India, but India is desperately trying to stay relevant in a land where it has no business being in the first place.

Perhaps another snub by International community in terms of Afghanistan may awaken Indian Administration from its ambitions and realize the reality that it faces which is of a no-role-India as far as Afghanistan is concerned.

So India is responsible for the TTP? That explains so much!

Afghanistan does not rely on India....Who decides that??? Let the common Afghans decide that......US does not share its borders with pakistan but still pakistan depends on US for billions of dollars of aid, whats wrong with India and Afghanistan.....

When Pakistan receives fighter planes, choppers, UAV,billion dollar aid from US; Indians start shouting......and so will pakistani's if indians do the same to Afghanistan

For the past 30 years pakistan has been deciding the foreign policy of Afghans...let afghans have access to sea via Iran.....Pakistan can anytime choke Afghanistan, if afghans try to be a little too patriotic

Re: India to play role in Afghanistan

Yes, Afghanistan residents will decide when their "own" Government is in place. It is specifically for the fear of "Afghanistan People Government" that India went rushing to KSA, and asked King to soften up resugring Taliban on behalf of India, but was refused or rather snubbed.

It's pretty evident, even as US accepts a return of Taliban, Indians' visions of grandeur are still at climax.

Let this be a wake up call to you, or any of your fellow countrymen, and I say this as an observer, not a warner, that India will not be successful in obtaining any direct relations with Afghanistan because India has nothing in common with a majority of Afghanistan.

I'll be here, you'll be here. Lets wait and see. If I'm proven wrong when Taliban return to power, I'll swallow my words. Otherwise i'll be the one comforting you because you were wrong and I "Told you so".

Fortunately International relations are not built on commonalties but on mutual interest....What does pakistan have in common with united states or rather China??? .....but both parties have economic and military ties.............Even Afghan spoksman recently said that Taliban is not against Indian presence and Indian role is different from rest of the countries.....I'm not promoting Indian presence in Afganistan, just trying to say things as they are.....

Hardcore Deobandi way or Wahabi way is not good for any country......75 % pakistanis which are Non Pakhtoon Barelives should be aware of that.

Re: India to play role in Afghanistan

Alright, we'll just have to wait and see. :) But I maintain my stance in what i said in my posts above.

Its good that you are maintaining your stance :)...I wont be surprised on Taliban coming to power, as Afghanistan has never been a well knit country like Pakistan/India and never had any "Afghan foreign policy"....they are ruled by dungar tribes and tribe leaders change their loyalty and agenda, Power in Afghanistan flows through the barrel of the gun not the ballet......

Yeh India has a very nice big big role to play in A-stan its just that it has no role to play in its own little corners.. I mean the nice and big big role.. leave it to Indians, it also had a role during Soviet Invasion of A-Stan it was also a nice and a big big role..

Does it matter?

Afghanis can use space shuttle to get their toilets and commodes. Why do we care?

Indians have already built a road through Iran.

Why the heck Afghanis not getting their daal chana through Iran now.

Yamaha bhai,

You asked a question about Afghans using Iran as transit point. And you got the answer that "Pakistanis do not care".

That India has already built a road that links Afghanistan to Pursian gulf through Iran.

So now go ahead and elaborate the point you wanted to make.

Thank you.

"Obama hazoor" When you put it like that.......We ain't questioning the rest....................:)

My one and only post on this thread:

India has as much vital/strategic/blah blah blah interests in Afghanistan as Pakistan has in Nepal. Enough said.

India will be kicked and I repeat kicked out of Afghanistan soon after USA partially (USA is not leaving) withdraws.

Now all you Indians, carry on day dreaming. Adios.

Re: India to play role in Afghanistan

India's role in Afghanistan:
- Bribe poor villagers and send them on suicide missions in Pakistan.
- Makes life easy for Indians to sponsor TTP whilst sitting in Afghanistan so not to be directly blamed for the chaos in Pakistan.

Indians, get ready for Taliban to open a can of whoop A$$ on ya'll !!!

baray aye role nibhany.. go fix ur gutter (ie all corners of india).

woohi. .living in fool paradise,… from the last 60 years India always maintain a good foothold in Afghanistan … and Afghani Intelligence service KHAD always have good relationship with RAW and other Indian intelligence services.

I have a question to ask you, except taliban who are funded & created by Pakistan with the backing of CIA, Saudi, UAE (sperms donated by half of the world) why non-pushton specially northern alliance always from the day one hate Pakistan.. are they not so-called Muslims? why tajik’s hate Pakistani’s … think about it..

ps. just in.. so sorry… Daily Jang: Urdu News - Latest Breaking News update Pakistan - jang.com.pk

Afghan problems started with the invasion of the Soviets, who were anything but "tribal."
It was an attempt by the then Afghan govt to impose a system of communism, which was alien to the society they wished to govern.

Prior to the Soviet Invasion, the Afghans were relatively prosperous. Infact, with the women in skirts and the general beauty of cities like Kabul as your backdrop, you would never have guessed it was a country run by a tribal system of governance.

The Indian in you is coming out post by post :rotfl:
