this is a fairly inaccurate. he knew partition was inevitable, and had seen the riots of direct action day. he wanted the partition to be done by the brits, and not go for a united india with an army that was close to 50% muslims who could be incited into civil war with the use of religion at any time. he also predicted that pakistan would be unable to maintain a democratic government for long given how inexperienced and greedy landowning-class muslim league politicians besides jinnah and LAK were, that would never outlaw zameendari, and the nature of the armed forces. he didn’t live to see it but most of that came true in no time. indian muslims can thank him and ambedkar for getting them many privileges that they wouldn’t have had if it were up to a secular nehru. pakistanis and hindu rightwingers paint him as some muslim-hater who jumped at jinnah’s ideas of partition but the truth is a lot more nuanced.
