Interesting that I saw the same picture again today on a Geo TV show
where a Sikh Pakistani singer had it up on his wall
and said that Bhagat Singh was our [Indo-Pak] common hero in the freedom struggle.
And before last week I had never seen this pic.

^^ thanks for the comments. Here in India we grew up hearing stories about bhagat singh, azad, bose and udham singh.
those were kinda violent spectrum of our struggle against british raj.

bhaghat singh is one of the most famous sons of lahore. you should look him up. the way he was martyred in lahore is very touchy. he was a philosopher and i think also wrote "mera rang de basanti chola" song.
if i am not wrong then jinnah fought his case in the british court.

Pic of the Day: Golden Temple (Sripuram), Vellore, Tamil Nadu

The golden temple of Sripuram (Tamil: ஸ்ரீபுரம்) is a spiritual park situated at the foot of a small range of green hills in a place known as “Malaikodi” in the city of Vellore in Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is at the southern end of the city of Vellore, at Tirumalaikodi.

The temple is located on 100 acres of land and has been constructed by Vellore-based Sri Narayani Peedam, headed by spiritual leader Sri Sakthi Amma also known as Narayani Amma. The temple with gold covering, has intricate carvings and sculptures in gold. The lighting is arranged in such a way that the temple glitters even during night. The construction of the temple was completed on August 24, 2007. More than 1500 kg of gold was used to build this temple. The LED lighting on the ridge of the roof of the star path is lit up at night so that flights operating in that direction can witness a star on the earth.
