Re: India in West Indies
Fully agreed Vineshvk. Pretty much what I would have said myself. :)

Re: India in West Indies
the key contributing factor to the win was clearly Dravid's strike rate.
i definitely didn't expect a 100+ S/R over the course of a century...which included a couple of sixes.
Re: India in West Indies
Hopefully Kaif has regained some confidence and will play better in next matches.
West Indian bowlers seem good with the new ball, but after 15 overs it seems they don't have anything to threaten.
Re: India in West Indies
Well did you see his long hop over the long on for six later... And anyway both of the shots go down in the book as 6's...
!7th consecutive win chasing the score... This team rocks
Cheers to India
Chak de fatte
Re: India in West Indies
Most importantly, Kaif is back where he belongs (although a little higher up in the batting lineup would further improve his chances of run-scoring, I'd think).
You nailed it. After Drvaid becoming an opener, I think best place for Kaif is one down. He is the guy who can build the inning and can hardly blast. I am big fan of him but today he almost lost it for India. Thank God India won , otherwise people would have asked for his head. God Job by Dravid and Dhoni.

****! india...just kidding...yah the only person I respect on Indian team is Rahul Dravid...he seems to be hitting his prime...I liked that six over midwicket on one-knee....oooo awww. Indians becoming like Aussies...expecting a win everytime.
yah i wish Pakistan had the talent India r producing these days...
Pak Cricket Going DOWN
Ind Cricket Going CRAZY
Re: India in West Indies
Kaif, better gets his act together... .Dropped twice by WI. couple of cheeky fours and still a strike rate of only 72% ... is not a good innings..
With Tendulkar ready to come back, Kaif is competeing against Yuvi, and Raina so he better gets his act together fast and quick.........
GREAT JOB INDIA - The record just continues to grow.... :D
Re: India in West Indies
Pakistan has the best talent in the world today… Two back to back under 19 WorldCups… Nurture it…
..
It was always great to see Wasim/Waqar/ Imran bowl… ![]()
Re: India in West Indies
Hemant, f&b and Afridi, I am getting confused with ur avatar just the way i was scratching my head with what Kaif was doing in the middle in the last 5 overs.

Re: India in West Indies
Two back to back under 19 world cups and the seniors dont even reach the super six’s …lol… Neither have they beaten India ever in world cup… Wasim, waqar, imran are gone now… All you’ve got is shoaib akhtar who’s as good as a special dish in a swanky restaurant… Saal mein sirf ek baar… Asif is good , So is Rana but they both havent done anything extra-ordinary in one-dayers.
Mat O M R W Ave Best 4w 5w SR Econ
Mohd Asif 11 85.4 12 353 10 35.30 3-30 - - 51.4 4.2
Rana 45 365.1 15 1962 77 25.48 6-27 3 1 28.4 5.37
Rana has been okay in one-dayers, but we all know how Indians belted him around the park in the recent series between the two.. And Asif, yeah, he’s great in test cricket but one-dayers, he’s still got a long way to go… Batting order is good, but unfortunately, the bowling which looks so good on paper goes to pieces on the ground…
Anyway… Good luck to India for the remaining matches… and cricket365.com read apt headlines for the match “Windies run into The Wall”

Agreed - and nicely staed.
Re: India in West Indies
i like rana's slower ones ..... he bowl them extremely beautifully ....
Re: India in West Indies
Hmmmm.. I've got some interesting observations about that one... Rana only uses the slower balls as his last retreat.. doesnt do that too often... Mainly relies on swing bowling... Heres an exmaple.. India vs Pak 2nd ODI 2006 Series
4.1 Naved-ul-Hasan to Sehwag, SIX, short one banged in, don't do that
to Sehwag, he plays the uppercut well over the fielder at third-
man for a six! Cracking shot that!
Sehwag seems to have strained his shoulder a bit with that shot.
John Gloster, the Indian physiotherapist, is on the field treating
Sehwag
4.2 Naved-ul-Hasan to Sehwag, FOUR, short of a length and on the off,
punched back past the bowler, that is a good shot for four back
past the bowler
4.3 Naved-ul-Hasan to Sehwag, FOUR, and four more! back of a length and
slipping down leg, flicked away through midwicket for a boundary!
Sehwag on fire here!
4.4 Naved-ul-Hasan to Sehwag, FOUR, short of a length and a bit of
width outside the off, Sehwag goes back and slams the ball through
cover! Naved-ul-Hasan being dismantled here!
4.5 Naved-ul-Hasan to Sehwag, no run, slower one outside the off stump,
Sehwag has a swing and a miss, through to the keeper
4.6 Naved-ul-Hasan to Sehwag, (noball) no run, short of a length and
outside the off, *slower one, cut to cover
* 4.6 Naved-ul-Hasan to Sehwag, (noball) no run, another no-ball! Full
and on the stumps, drivent o mid off
4.6 Naved-ul-Hasan to Sehwag, two runs, *slower one again, on the off,
* eased through cover for a couple that takes the over's tally to
22!
Need more ?
Match 4, same series
10.1 Naved-ul-Hasan to Yuvraj Singh, no run, short of a good length and
on the off, defended awkwardly to the fielder at mid-on
10.2 Naved-ul-Hasan to Yuvraj Singh, no run
10.3 Naved-ul-Hasan to Yuvraj Singh, FOUR, slower one **fullish and on the stumps,
Yuvraj walks across his stumps and flicks authoritatively over
midwicket for four!
10.4 Naved-ul-Hasan to Yuvraj Singh, no run, driven down to the on side
10.5 Naved-ul-Hasan to Yuvraj Singh, FOUR, short of a good length and
outside the off, **slightly slower, driven on the rise but all along
the ground, the timing is superb and the ball runs away for four!
10.6 Naved-ul-Hasan to Yuvraj Singh, no run, short of a length and
outside the off, played down to point
Its not that you should know how to ball them, its important to know when you ball them too...
Cheers

I am sure you also know Rana's bolwing figure at jamshedpur. Using selective information to make your point is very myopic .
Re: India in West Indies
The question here is for the next world cup.:). Not the previous once. With the current form India have an edge.
And about Rana, he has ceased to become a threatening bowler after a very promising start. But somehow his batting ablities have improved.
Re: India in West Indies
From best batting line up mantra, which we heard in last 8 years almost everyday from Indian media, now a new passion.
The best and firing middle order.
