OK X-tremo and Chtonic powers - Mea Culpa.
I guess I'm just being a pessimist by thinking of all the things that can go wrong. I wish we could get those old days back, like 1990, when everything was so much simpler...

^....and us losing all the time.
Are you sure you want to go all the way back to 1990 ? I would prefer going back to 1998-99 time.
Ouch! Asif bhai we lost mainly in Sharjah for reasons well known...now let's not get into that or I'll get another hearing from ChthonicPowers
ji. ;)
But you have a point- let the games begin and if India starts beating Pak from day 1, I shall hop on that bus and reach Lahore pronto! :)

Now what could that be, Aah!!! not being able to score enough runs or maybe not beign able to bowl the Pakistanis out. Hmmmmm!!!! needs serious research. ;)
Go back and forth all you want, but the fact remains that India has never won a Test match in Pakistan.

India has never won a game in Pakistan ![]()
Sachee i never knew that. I know that India has not won the series but not even a game phewww.
I wonder what will happen in India if they will? May be a National Holiday? Or may be all the prisoners will get concession in their terms etc
Well Chtonicpower, I am still puzzled by the fact they why was a sudden change in Vajpayee's mind, whats different now then 1 year ago.
But whatever, as long as they play us anywhere, I don't have a problem.
I can understand if the Indians are reluctant to tour Pakistan for safety reasons and vice versa, as long as the ties are resumed, then no harm done.

Someone said here that since India was denied observar status in OIC and stronger words against India on Kashmir from OIC, UAE and other places have forced India to issues such statements, there will be no surprise if India stops its teams again.
Come on guys, those that are saying tendulkar will be attacked in Pakistan while playing etc are just making stupid excuses. Thats just plain non-sense. Nothing will happen to him, and oh yes, the grounds will be packed, trust me! Its not every day that we get to see a Pakistan vs India cricket match in Pakistan.
yikes, that is not something to be proud of guys. why the hell do we have a losing record in hindia. Team that is significantly better than theirs should have a winning record anywhere we play.
Pakistan set India dates
**The Pakistan Cricket Board has proposed three Tests and seven one-day internationals against India next year. ** :k:
**“We have sent a proposed itinerary to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),” spokesman Samiul Hasan said on Saturday. **
The Indian government said last Wednesday it was ready to resume all sporting ties with Pakistan.
The Indian and Pakistani cricket teams played their last regular Test in 1999 in India.
Since then, they have met at the Asia Cup in Bangladesh and the World Cup in South Africa.
Venues have not been finalised for the proposed 9 February to 8 April series.
On their current tour South Africa refused to play in the troubled cities of Karachi and Peshawar, which is close to the Afghanistan border.
New Zealand fled the country mid-series last May after a suicide bomb attack in Karachi killed 14 people, while Australia and West Indies both refused to tour Pakistan in 2002.
**“We will try our best to stage matches (against India) not only in Karachi and Peshawar, but also in Quetta (where the Indian team played a one-day international in 1978),” Hasan said. **
**Hasan said he expects the heads of the Pakistan and Indian cricket boards to discuss the proposed tour at the International Cricket Council’s executive board meeting in Barbados on 29 October. **
The Indian government had long said that its policy of disallowing national teams to play Pakistan was a matter of “national interest”, and that ties could not resume until cross-border violence ended.
Sporting ties between India and Pakistan have a five-decade history of disruption, springing largely from New Delhi’s accusations that Islamabad backs Islamic militants fighting for independence for the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.
Kashmir is divided between the two countries but both claim all of it. Pakistan denies that it materially aids the militants, but says it morally supports their cause.
India has not played a Test match in Pakistan since 1989-90, when the the four-Test series was drawn 0-0. India’s star batsman Sachin Tendulkar made his test debut in that series.
Pakistan’s three-Test tour of India in 1999 took place despite threats from Hindu fundamentalists.
I really hope they play games in Karachi, Quetta and Peshawer. What is this BS of other countries choosing where they want to play? You ca'nt do that anywhere else. When we go to play in South Africa, Pakistanis can't say, Cape Town is too violent so we won't play there. Time for these guys to grow some balls and do there jobs. Save the whining for after you lose. It's nice to see South Africa get there asses beat. Especailly afte rall the crying they did before the tourny started.
Pakistan proposes three Tests, seven one-dayers against India
FAISALABAD: Pakistan has proposed playing three Tests and seven one-day internationals against India once the two countries recommence sporting ties, an event expected early next year, an official said Saturday.
“We have proposed three Tests and seven one-day internationals from February 19 to April 8 to the Board of Control for Cricket in India and (we are) now gearing up for the tour,” a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman said.
He told reporters the venues would include Karachi and Peshawar, the venues South Africa refused to play recently due to security fears. “A stadium in Quetta is also nearing completion and we have also plans to host a one-day match there,” he said.
Indian Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha Wednesday offered to revive sporting links with Pakistan and break the long-standing impasse in bilateral cricket between the arch-rivals. The two countries last played a Test series in 1999-2000 after Pakistan crossed the border despite threats from Hindu fundamentalists.
No Indian team has toured Pakistan since a Krish Srikkanth-led team played four Tests there in 1989-90. Wednesday’s offer raised hopes that Pakistan will finally host India next year. “We expect that more talks will be held when chiefs of the two boards meet at the sidelines of the ICC (International Cricket Council) executive board meeting in Barbados,” the spokesman said. The ICC meet will take place in the West Indies on October 28 and 29.
PCB chief executive Ramiz Raja earlier this month said Pakistan stands to earn $11 million in 20 days of cricket with India. The rivals played against each other in the World Cup this year but have not met in a bilateral series since India snapped sporting links following an attack on its parliament in New Delhi in December 2001. An Indian Under-19 team is due to feature in a four-nation tournament in Pakistan along with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka later this month. —AFP

wtf, no matches in Rawalpindi? There better be!!!
U people already got 2 one dayers against South Africa, its time for Karachites to have some fun. :nahnah:
I’m not so sure about 3 test and 7 one dayers, thats a little too much, especially after India’s long tour to Australia, it would be nice if they can move the series to April 2004, so India can get rest before they get spanked.
BCCI confirm tour of Pakistan
Wisden Cricinfo staff
October 27, 2003
The BCCI has confirmed, in writing, that it has received permission from the Government of India to resume cricketing ties with Pakistan, a PCB press release said.
Jagmohan Dalmiya, BCCI president, has also written to the PCB saying that "as per the agreement between the two boards," India would tour Pakistan in February-March of 2004.
"However, the BCCI has requested us to send a fresh itinerary as the previous itinerary gives the Indian team a very brief break from the tour to Australia," a spokesman of the PCB said
*I think 7 ODIs are a bit too much especially for an Indian side that'll come back from a long AUSSIE Tour *
I guess Lahore never goes through this kinda situation. Lahore is always picked without any picking droping ![]()

And if someone shoots a small patakha somewhere in Karachi or somewhere else and IF that patakha made a headline in any news paper or so than the Indians will first cancel the tour and than if they decided to still go ahead with the tour they will cut it in short ;)
