After the Australian tour, the Indian team would find the Pakis a piece of cake :)

I hate to agree with you but you are right. after all you won 52 matches compared to our 30. OH WAIT, IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND. CROSS OUT WHAT I SAID FIRST.

^^ Rana, you are really hillariuos occassionally :hehe:

anyways it should be a good series, depends mainly on how Indians fare in aussie tour, if they are drubbed then Pakistan will be favorites and if indians perform well against aussies, then thier confidence will be high and that will favor them.

Right on remember this and they will be ready with the excuses :)

Why does this series not show up in Team Schedules in Cricinfo?

Here

It doesn’t show India visiting Pakistan, also it does not show India visiting Australia… Is there any updated schedule out there? :konfused:

Web-MasterNEE must be Umma Bharti :)

That link shows only England’s Schedule.

According to the ICC 10 year Plan, Pakistan was supposed to host India immidiately after the World Cup (April 2003). Since India didn’t tour Pakistan then, Pakistan has been trying to re-schedule that tour in Feb 2004.

Here is the latest ICC schedule for 2004, It does show that Australia and Pakistan will host India in 2004:-

Australia in Dec '03-Jan '04
Pakistan in Feb '04
http://www-usa.cricket.org/link_to_database/NATIONAL/ICC/TOURNAMENTS/10_YEAR_PLAN/2004.html

England… errrrrrr.

Thanks for that link :k:

But that shows Pakistan doing nothing after hosting India until Sep '04 Champions Trophy :crying:

Well, I think PCB must have reserved some time for Sharjah/Morocco tournaments :) . Apart from that I think Players would need some rest after 8 months of continous cricket.

LOL!

anyway, back to the tour, 5 ODI's is plenty, 7 matches between two teams is just ridiculous.

Pakistan and India should play 5 test match series every year like Ashes series. and right after that series, hosting country can host a tri nation cup like Australia do.

Here are some possible names for the cup

  • Agni-Shaheen Cup
  • Aishweriya-Zara Cup
  • Sachin-Wasim Cup
  • UmaBharti-SheikhRasheed Cup
  • LalooParsad-PerPagara Cup
  • Asif_K-Umair Cup

etc etc

On serious note: Sachee i really want them to play regularly. Atlesat 5 test. Also they should play a hockey series each year.

:hehe: :hehe: Goodone :k:

5 tests every year would be too much. How about 5 tests every other year?

How about Salim Malik-Md. Azharuddin CUP :)

:rotfl:^

I don’t think 5 tests are feasable, apart from anything else India plays around that amount totally in a year!

Something like the Gavaskar/Border cup involving just one test is better. We could play it once a year or every other year. One test would make it really competative too.

Coming to Feb 2004, 5 ODI’s and 2 tests are enough. These days it’s the fashion to have 2 test series.

PCB sent out revised itinerary to BCCI.

Pakistan-India series venues finalized

ISLAMABAD, Nov 2: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized a list of venues where the One-Day Internationals and Test matches with India will be played next year, in a revised itinerary being sent out this week.

**The Balochistan capital of Quetta, Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Multan have been chosen as venues for the seven One-dayers in the proposed itinerary. **

***On the other hand one Test each is to be played at Karachi and Lahore while the third will either be in Rawalpindi or Peshawar. “We have not decided the sequence of matches as yet,” a spokesman for the PCB told Dawn on Sunday. ***

The PCB had first dispatched an itinerary to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on August 15. However, after the Indian government announced last month full resumption of sporting ties with Pakistan, BCCI asked for the itinerary to be revised. “They wanted that there be sufficient gap after completing their tour Down Under,” the spokesman said.

**According to the new itinerary, the Indian team is likely to arrive in Pakistan around February 24 for what will be their first Test tour of this country in 14 years. **

India last toured Pakistan in 1989 for a Test series while Pakistan crossed over in 1999 for three Tests despite threats from Hindu fundamentalists. The Tests in Chennai and New Delhi went incident-free but crowd trouble marred the third at Calcutta’s Eden Gardens forcing the police to evacuate the stands and the match ended in an empty stadium.
