In terms of percentage, Indias middle class is equal to many other developing nations. The only difference is in sheer numbers and nothing more.

I mean there is no denying the fact that many developing countries have done far better in terms of development then India. Just a cursory glance at some social indicators in countries like Indonesia, Egypt, even Iran etc, and you will begin to understand how the India state has failed its people.

Why are you talking about accomplishments? It was never under discussion. I agreed that there is poverty and inequality in India. It is you insistence on fake appearance, deception and cosmetic behavior that i object too.
