Frankly it’s the Indians who respond to anything and everything remotely critical of India with “well Pakistan blah blah blah.” Even when, as demonstrated in my previous post, their accusations are completely false. It’s like a bloody reflex.

I agree.

India does a much better job of marketing itself to the outside world. People in Europe and North America seem to ignore the fact that the masses of India are every bit as poor as the people of Sub-Saharan Africa, and instead focus on software and call centers. It has also done a better job at maintaining at least the cosmetic appearance of a functional democracy…though again, a lot of this is more of an issue of how India presents itself to the outside world as opposed to actual reality.

India actually has rich, middle class and poor people. The presence of the rich and the middle class is not an cosmetic appearance. The foreigners are here to do business with the rich and the middle class. The phirangs are not a bunch of fools to fall for cosmetic appearances when billions of dollars are involved. They need a functioning and strong economy to do business in. Such an economy flourishes mostly in a stable democracy and India has one.

Indians should be worried about the poverty and inequality in the country. That is a real issue. This Goebbels like repetition of cosmetic and image **** is what the insecure types need to make their envy go away.
