I guess this is the 10th time vaas has dismissed him in ODI's. He is the bowler who has dismissed tendi the most number of times in ODI's.

For some reason Tendu charged down the wicket to Vaas. He did the same to Fernando in the previous over.

Not sure why he was getting so desperate. The target score is not that intimidating.

Yuvraj hits another four, 33-1 in 7.5. He is one player chappel should really promote. I guess he will realy excel after the exclusion of gangu.

No, Balaji is not injured. Infact he played in the India vs India A series leading up to this series…and even dismissed Tendulkar in his comeback game.

As for the quota limit, there is no written rule…however the comsposition of the selection commitee and the way it works ensures that every zone must be represented in the team…which means that some zones can only have so many players in the side even though they may have additional deserving candidates.

Well, i don’t have to have Indian quota system knowledge, do i??? I just think this sort of quota system would NOT keep a bowler out if he is talented enough.
I am sure he was dropped on the basis of poor performance, have a look at this:

Balaji’s performance in last 4 ODI’s he ahs played:

Vs pak at VDCA stadium: 0/32 off 6
Vs Pak at Sardar patel stadium: 1/51 off 7 overs
Vs pak at Green park: 0/51 off 6 overs

DROPPED for last 2 matches
Returned against SriLanka in Dambulla with figures of 1/48 off 10.

Overall average in these matches: 54
Economy rate: 6.14

Now, i don’t think quota system applies here, does it???
Maybe i know more about your own players;)

Mystery Jee…may be you should also post the recent figures of Agarkar(who is there in place of Balaji) .

The quota system thing was just a conjecture on my part. It may just be that Chappel does not like Balaji’s looks.

I think Chappel over-did his No. 3 position rotation. I mean what is he trying to achieve by changing the No. 3 player in every match esp after the last player in that position played well. Is he trying to see how many players can bat in that position.

He is trying really hard to win hearts of Indian fans and he can achieve this by performing well against Pakistan, he is using these ODI’s as a practice to prepare for Pakistan series:p
