Increasing height in kids

Is height influenced by any particular nutrients and exercise or is it mainly hereditary?

Re: Increasing height in kids

Niksik, milk with vitamins in it, helps. that is what i've heard so many aunts and my own Mom say. it should be drank regularly. & kids should be athletic, engage in stretching running exercises.

Re: Increasing height in kids

When you say milk with vitamins in it, what do you mean?

Re: Increasing height in kids

vitamin D for calcium :D

Re: Increasing height in kids

There is no doubt about the importance of nutritious and balanced diet for kids . Researchers say that height is a hereditary trait. Contrary to what researchers say I have noticed that desi kids who are being born and raised in US are taller and more muscular than their desi cousins who are born and are being raised in desh.
Anybody disagrees with me ?

Re: Increasing height in kids

Yeah, full milk has vitamin D, but any other vitamins? A multivitamin?

Re: Increasing height in kids

Marry a taller man!

I would say you are right, but these days, desi kids coming from middle class and up families are getting healthy as well due to increase awareness, better nutrition and physical activity.

Re: Increasing height in kids

I read that it is 70% genes...the rest is nutrition and environment...environment meaning playing sports, is child undergoing any kind of abuse etc.

its what they put in the water. they mix all sorts of stuff in the water before it comes out your tap.. meant to be good for you they say :vivo:

Re: Increasing height in kids

I don’t think tap water is good here.

Re: Increasing height in kids

are you from uk niksik? lemme see if i can google a breakdown of what they put in the water

Re: Increasing height in kids

I've heard that exercise helps one tiny bit...stretching exercise, that is

Re: Increasing height in kids

No I live in the US. Tap water is very contaminated in many cities. We use a filter.

Re: Increasing height in kids

filter replacements are so expensive :( and bottled water is worse

i think some companies even put a small amount of sodium (salt) in the bottled water to make you thirsty. that way you drink more and buy more

Re: Increasing height in kids

Nothing works, trust me my mom tried every trick under the sun for my brother.

Despites all attempt my brother is still a thigna :cb:

Im taller than him :snooty:

Serves him right to be a ‘larka’

Re: Increasing height in kids

:smack:

My choti is tall but the older one is at the mid level of her percentile chart. She’s OK and she’ll probably be as tall as me, which isn’t very tall but average for a desi :hmmm:. I just thought I’d get tips even though her ped said apples don’t fall far from their tree!

Re: Increasing height in kids

Oh dear me, worried about the poor kid's height from now.

Let her be, its all genetic, she'll be as tall as it says in her genes despite whatever you make her eat.
