yeah the universityhas issued some wishy washy lukewarm statements that their lawyers probably went over 50 times to avoid being sued either by the cop for defamation or by the student for something else.

The statements were laughable at best.

As an American, I am extremely disapointed that some are saying this incident somehow demonstrates anti-Muslim behavior by the police. Did the dude have a "Kiss me, I'm Muslim" t-shirt on? How exactly did the police know he was Muslim?

I think the bigger complaint should be that a UCLA student somehow thinks the Patriot Act was involved in the reaction to his illegal behavior. Next time, bring your damn i.d., sit down, shut up, and read up on what is and what isn't involved in any lost rights due the Patriot Act.

I so agree with this. You can whine and cry when a person is punished despite following the rules. The individual clearly didn't carry an I.D.

People don't taser just for craps and giggles. You follow the rules, and you wont get burned. That's just how life in the U.S. is.

I dont think its an anti-muslim issue. People are making mullahs out of molehills. I dont really know how much did he provoke the police to get tazzered. We need to exact details as to what were his actions and how much was he at fault for the action police carried out.

I think it is a classic case of discrimination, they suspected him to be a Muslim and that is why use excessive force. This definatly is not the first time a student in UCLA library forgot to show I.D, how many of them got tazzered like him?

LOL...I just don't get these neo-con nuts here...what get's me are the details of the case (which I guess Seminole hadn't bothered with)...

He got tazered what...ten times. For not having a student ID. He wasn't being belligerant untill after, oh...I guess the third time. According to eye-witness accounts he was LEAVING, and then called back by the cops...only to get tasered.

Also, I noticed the cop asking the kid to get up after the first or second taser...he wasn't refusing to....he was unable. These cops are either uneducated or retarded.

Man...what does it say when you get tasered for complying....well, it makes me wish old Johnny Cochran was still alive.

Also disturbing is that the cops threatened the students who asked for their badge numbers...wonder if Semi would like to comment on that...

No, no...the American model of having camps in far flung places to send otherwise innocent farmers and peasants is by far better.
