The most acceptable definition of God that I've come across is something like "to know God is to become God". Ofcourse this may be unacceptable to all religions since it equates God to knowledge of God but to me this provides the most logical link between perception, thought, knowledge and God. I've tested this for a number of philosphic axioms and it works.
Nown if I can come up a bunch of verses for a holy book anmd some inexplicable rituals, I am sure I can start my own religion!
