Only in Pakistan would the worlds fastest bowler be treated like crap. Shaoib is a great bowler his stats speak for themselves. Now all the whiners out there who criticized him can watch as our ace bowling trio of Sami, Rana and Iftikar Rao take on the Indians. Watch and weep.....
and only fools {pcb} axe players like wasim, waqar, saeed etc who can easily walk into any line up. pcb made a big mistake by introducing 'young talent' by completely flipping the side, they should've gradually built a 'team for the future' around the legends waq, was, saeed etc. and this foolishness has cost us, we r so damn weak now and i don't every remember since i started watching cricket seeing a pak side as weak as dis 1.

people here fail to realize this is woolmers lobby to get rid of shaoib and end his career becuz he doesent worship woolmer like tht eother players and the cricket establishment in pakistan. woolmer has all the power they should make him patron, who the f are the pcb when the tour manager cleared shoaib in his report? and y the hell was the inquiry held a month after he arrived from aus. also i bet woolmer told his south african counterparts the physios to take vacation, and even if he didnt pcb should have vetoed them and make them stay and look after shoaib!!! i believe shoaib should be disciplined but this is not the time! fukin woolmer is prolly ruining our chances in this series!

I think the answer for all of above is NO. Which means that 'taali dono haathon se bachti hai'. The simple reason of these actions is his lack of commitment and his off the field activities despite of him being injury prune that leads to the break downs right in the middle of important series that caused humiliation for the nation both in Indian and Oz tours. The former fast bowlers had their scandles but they did perform in the ground and won pride for us.
Don't take it that serious or personal. No player is bigger than the game itself. If Shoaib can say that "it was a contest b/w him alone and seven Ausie players, each of 'em is capable of scoring 200 runs" he discarded efforts of Denish and others who put up some fight back. If he can open his mouth like this, he should also take the critism and warnings. He is not God! He should decipline himself as soon as possible to make a positive mark in the team for the youngsters in this rebuilding phase. Nuff said!
Its about time, somone opeaned a thread in support of Akhtar...Lets all get our friends to sighn this petition...Akhtar is one of the best bowlers in the world, its time we start treating him like one. For all of you akhtar haters out there, I would liek to say that Shoaib is a human, not a miracle worker, who can always get Pakistan out of a hopeless situation.

akhter is no hero here he has taken a gamble he knows how cricket works in our beloved pakistan, he knows once pakistan fails in india not only would he be recalled but most probably bob and inzy would be sacked, he would be the indisputed king of the team feelin free to do his own thing, he is a devious little bugger who has played his cards well, he doesnt want to associate himself with wat he views as another disaster waiting to him, on a personal level i can understand where he iss coming from, but can u really tell me any one of u that if the need arose and our country or pakistan called on us would we turn our backs and not to do anything if we can not make a difference, in jured or not most of us would be willing to go all the way to answer the call of our country forget our petty differences and give it our very best, i know for a fact that i will and so would most of u
as for blaming the pcb why dont u guys just look at the facts, shoaib wouldnt have lasted this long had it not been for general tauqeer zia, he stoood by him all along from 1999 onwards till zia went shoaib was at the receiving end of one royal treatment after another, i can not believe that this man has the balls to be so arragont and so up his own that he expects the adminsitration to stick by him after he has let them down time after time. true he has made countless come backs and performed admirably but hasnt he always pulled out and let the team down whenever the need has arose, he has excuses but deep down its a case of an individual putting himself/his needs before his wants and there is simpy no rooom for him in any team.
We love our pakistan all thats good about it all thats bad about it and its about time he did the same and put his personal vandeeta behind him. i will be more then willing to stand up and apologise for this outburst if this idiot stands up, performs for pakistan, kisses the crest of the badge with the star on it and make a real difference on a consistent basis.
I could not have said it any better, Shoaib no Doubt is one of the best bowlers, if not the best, but he seems to be getting carried away with success and peoples love and admiration for him and the game of cricket.
If only he could control his shooting from the mouth antics and could have a low profile, off the field and most importantly take proper care of his health and injuries, there is no other bowler as lethal as him.
Fact of the matter is that no one is out to get him as is being said by some members here, but its getting to a point now where he has cried wolf too many times.
Shoaib has already got more than he ever deserved. His dropping out because of injury is just a face saving move because he was not even going to be selected in the squad.
Sure, let’s see what your “selected” squad does; the attack that consists of Sami and Khalil can only cause terror in the ranks. India, in this series, will have a better pace attack than us. Can you freakin’ believe this?
I agree with Smooth_guy :k: Shoaib has received royal treatments one after the other but his lack of committment and arrogance has not faded. His fitness is joke, he can’t last one whole day in field without cracking, what good is he for test matches?
I know our bowling is very weak in his absence, but I’d rather go with inexperienced talent as they’ll at least try their best and gain monumental experience out of this series.
Actually that highlights what he means whenever he opens up his trap instead of doing something to redeem himself …
Wish Pak gets ICC Permission to select him only on Spell by Spell basis becoz then ppl will realize how much he’s really worth, but i know that is impossible …
