Re: in-laws on facebook
Some of my in laws were on FB but they deactivated it after a while....but if I had them now, I don't think I'd feel restricted, I dont' do anything out of line or embarrassing anywya
Re: in-laws on facebook
sometimes we can crack jokes with friends or feel a bit low and say something ... or share something that we wouldn't really share with EVERYONE ... especially with slightly formal or "not-so-emotionally-close" relatives so-to-speak ..
Re: in-laws on facebook
When you say "in-laws" does that also includes sister-in-law , bro-in-law or only sassoo ma
Re: in-laws on facebook
I use my mum's facebook to communicate with extended family or ppl I'd have to be a bit 'careful' with, less hassle..
Re: in-laws on facebook
argghhhh i had my ex-would-be in-laws on fb. It was soooo awkward. I mean why would i want my would-be saas on my friend’s list… ![]()
It’s not like i’m too social or anything, but even then I felt weird and I was always conscious. I even got annoyed by my ex-fiancée always checking on me and poking and stuff and we weren’t even that close or anything. So I just started changing my profile settings for them.
Re: in-laws on facebook
I have my brother in law and 2 sisters-in-law added as facebook contacts. I've never felt restricted by it. I doubt they'd bother to follow any of my cheesy links or read my bad jokes anyway.
Re: in-laws on facebook
of course BILs SILs are also included …
that is very smart! everyone should make an FB page for their moms .. lol
ouch!
i have recently been thinking about how people have millions of friends on facebook … i just want to cut down to a list that includes people that i actually call friends … want to remain in contact with. others are so unnecessary !!
and in-laws are a total no-no ..
Re: in-laws on facebook
‘like’ this](Facebook)… should be fine then.
Re: in-laws on facebook
I have my BIL and SILs and I dont have any problem with them around.
my MIL and FIL does not use FB.
Re: in-laws on facebook
people do randomly stalk when they have nothing else to do ... i wont lie .. i do that too sometimes ..
if you have good relationship with your in-laws or if they arent the sort who are looking for opportunities of gossip then i guess it's ok ..
Re: in-laws on facebook
hahaah .. that is some serious heavy-duty stuff .. ![]()
Re: in-laws on facebook
Okay its not stalking if that person is on your friend list and already has everything there for you to see!
Re: in-laws on facebook
Yes, but I don't excessively use FB or do anything that they would find inappropriate or embarassing. It was a bit strange when my friends asked about my engagement etc, I deleted the messages & replied with private messages, because I found it strange that they could read them too!
Re: in-laws on facebook
usually that is not the case .. some people on fb are just acquaintances .. some people dont know how to manage privacy settings ...
it's happened every now and then that somebody posted some pics and then some friends start PM-ing "oh did you check so-and-so's album out" ...

exactly! all this feeling of being conscious can be annoying ..
Re: in-laws on facebook
I wouldnt care much. My facebook profile is one I would be comfortable showing my mother. So if she is okay with it...Im not worried.
Re: in-laws on facebook
Hehe my inlaws doesnt speak or understand danish so I dont care if they are there or not :D But than again they dont have access to some of my pictures albums and they cant see the pictures people tag me on trust me I have to explained a lot if they could se some of those pictures LOL hehehe
Re: in-laws on facebook
Simple, make different profiles for friends and family.
Re: in-laws on facebook
It's wierd for me, I have all my brothers wives as fb friends but only one of my husbands sisters as a fb friend. Not because I am hiding anything it's just I don't really see my husbands family as my family or my friends, they nice people just not really 'friend' material.
