I really don’t need to see stats to know what I saw, On one side of our house in Defence society the next door girl studied Medicine at Sind Medical College, I was later told that her Sindi Wadera husband threw her off the 7th floor balcony and claimed she jumped. The father was a lawyer and filed a law suite and in an apparent alleged robbery the entire family was killed. Our next door neighbors on the other side conveniently burnt the Chinyotti girl in a kitchen fire. Last time I checked my stats education 85 to 90 percent does represent a big chunk of the population. My credibility has nothing to do with the fact that women are being horribly abused, raped, killed maimed. Maybe peruse through just Wikipedia to get an idea of what goes on. Many females are sheltered from the real and big underbelly of that society.

I never denied the violence against women in Pakistan, but the fact remains that no matter how many times you write down the same 3-4 examples you witnessed while in Pak. What you saw is not ALL of Pakistan, understand that. I grew up there too and I saw some of the most amazing people. If I wanted to, I could tell you JUST all the good things I witnessed and refuse to acknowledge the bad but that is not called a balanced approach. And wikipedia? Really, that is like the first thing they teach you in high school, do not source wikipedia if you want your argument to be credible. I saw some very nice people too, the gold medalist Zaffar Razak decided to stay back home and most of us left. I heard he died of stress. He was commissioned to investigate corruption on a bridge that collapsed in Lyari KHI and very powerful army officers and goons threatened to rape his daughter if he implicated them in corruption so please pardon me if I am not thrilled. I was very street smart and connected and the females in my home did not have a scintilla of the knowledge of what went on. If you live in a society where university hostels are used to abduct helpless girls and gang rape them that is a horrific testament to that society. Wikipedia does list all the researches pls read them if you are interested. One was done by Pakistani doctors.
That is what Islamic awareness will bring my dear friend. The equality between genders & protection for women. It will naturally come if the correct Islamic knowledge is taught. Without awareness about true teachings of Islam, women or people generally would not know their rights and abondoning religion will turn this already barbaric, moral-less society into zombies that only look like humans.
You are right, there needs to be some educated scholars who will update the rulings as per current times. The extremists follow the violence and destruction side but there are many examples of forgiveness, kindness and of getting along. Religion now is just a power game without real desire to do good.

Here is the money in question is a theft case , He showed the same flats in an amnesty scheme , if these were purchased with foreign income , there was no need to put that in such a scheme , and he didn’t declare those in 2002 and 1997 election declaration as he admitted in SC , it is generally believed that it was his father’s corruption money .
