LAHORE: Pakistani police Friday sealed off a cancer hospital set up by Imran Khan as they sought to track him down, after he has escaped arrest under the state of emergency.
A police official was quoted as saying that police had cordoned off the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in Lahore “to search for Imran Khan.”
“We are still looking for him because we have orders to detain him” under public order legislation, police official Mohammad Omar said.
Khan’s house was also cordoned off.
Khan said in a statement from hiding that he was in contact with other opposition leaders and “we will soon launch a mass movement against Musharraf.”
He demanded the reinstatement of independent-minded chief justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry, who was sacked by Musharraf immediately after the state of emergency was imposed.
“We will continue our struggle,” Khan said while talking to Geo television later.
“We are also preparing our strategy to launch a civil disobedience movement against him. We will not let him (Musharraf) sit in peace.”
He called for the reinstatement of all other judges who have been detained and spoke of setting up a legal support fund to help them.
Staff at Geo News office said police later came to the channel’s Islamabad bureau to inquire about the interview.
“They came and said they were looking for Imran Khan but then they left without searching the office,” reporter Mohammad Tahir said.

how many times have we heard this from imran, must be atleast once a week, but unfortunatly musharraf is sitting down very peacefully without any scare from these monkeys
It is because of him and a lot of other monkeys that the great Mush is holding the whole country to ransom and is busy closing hospitals while the terrorists are roaming around free in the country.
Aalsi maaan u missed the point of the paragraph 'Hospital Sealed'...now how are those poor people gona get proper treatment? or is Mr. General gonna send them a piece of the american pie he's been getting all these years and send 'em off to another hospital for better treatment?
His hospital is perhaps the best hospital in the country...
This coming from a person whose relatives are serving as doctors there moved from Karachi while working in Agha khan and Liaquat National hospitals :~)
Imran is a misguided individual. When he entered politics, mullahs accused him of having a child outside marriage. Accused him of marrying a Jew. Now he is in bed with them. He himself accused Nawaz government of corruption, and praised Musharaf when he took over. Now he is in bed with the same corrupt folks. A wanna-be leader, who wanted to stand out from the crowd, now joined the same crowd, who never had a good reputation in Pak. He has yet to condemn lal masjid administration, who were stockpiling arms inside the mosque. He has yet to condemn those who are blowing themselves. He has yet to condemn that mullah radio in Swat. He has yet to condemn tribes who are executing pak soldiers and making videos.
