Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf chairman Imran Khan has said that dialogue with Taliban is the most important issue regarding current situation of the motherland. All parties are backing the government in this regard but it is not paying heed to this crucial issue.
While addressing a press conference in Lahore on Thursday, he warned that he would start direct dialogue with Taliban if the government doesn’t show any seriousness and sincerity in this matter.
He said that the US has proved by drone attacks that we is our worth and prestige in the sight of world community.
Throwing light on prime minister recently visit to America and UK, he said that Nawaz Sharif treated US president Barak Obama as his boss. Pakistan has come in the grip of calamites while the prime minister is busy in foreign tours.
He said that rulers are bound to beg for running the country as it has become impossible to run the system by hollow slogans which have diametrically failed to bring the country out of crises and challenges.
He made it clear that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has to face big loss with delay of dialogue with Taliban who are successively targeting innocent people for their vested interests.
He warned if the government takes no initiative in this regard, the PTI would start direct phase of dialogue with Taliban. PTI would also table a resolution in the KP Assembly regarding the supply to NATO forces in Afghanistan.
He warned that if drone attacks during dialogue with Taliban continue, his party would stop NATO supply without any pressure.
Commenting on socio-economic setup of the country, he said that more than 70 percent parliamentarians are defaulters of tax.
He suggested that the government should extend the circle of tax rather than imposing more taxes on the poor who are already bound to face the GST and other utility bills which are nothing but a ‘Jagga tax’.
He said that if the rulers are sincere with the country, they must have eradicated corruption tax-theft.
He suggested privatization of institutions is no solution to problems, it needs serious and sober steps for salvation of the masses who are real assets of the country; otherwise angry people would come to the streets and topple the government.

Pl add the news reference.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

You really think I could write such engreezi

Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

But when kashif abbassi and others asked him before if he wanted to be part of talks, he said that FATA is a federal issue and so only federal govt was authorized to talk to “Taliban”.

Drama queen much? Any support that I had for him is further eroded each day by his theatrics. Now, wait for conciliatory words for Taliban when a church or a market blows up! This is supposed to be the best man that Pakistani awam can come up :hehe:

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

Best talent pakistani awam has is to do useless bakwaas.
Utter rubbish.... be it talk shows or other wise.

I really hope one day they get to know the thing called real world. So far people who know real world are the ones who hit by flood, earthquake or other disasters. Rest is ... just sit and rearrange their bakwaas in new innovative ways.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

brother, Fed govt has been sleeping on this issue since two months now because punjab is safe for now. Otherwise they would have done SOMETHING by now. But this inaction is hurting KP mostly

KP govt cannot move ahead with its reforms plans without some stability and peace. PTI’s future lies with KP govt performance & this is why he is urging the govt.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

Had these "maut ke saudagar" targeted Punjab, NS would have requested Sam to increase drone attacks exponentially.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

You mean drone strikes in good old Punjab?

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

If Imran has any concern of people he and his party represents, then he should condemn Taliban not drones … as drones only operate in FATA (not KPK) and kills tormentors of innocent KPK residents, rather tormentors of every Pakistani.

Being representative of KPK, Imran should know that drones did not killed anyone in KPK, but Taliban killed 10s of thousand Pakhtun civilians (men, women and children) in KPK most brutally, cut throat of many KPK government officials, raped many Pakhtun girls (by force marriage or making them slaves), killed many Pakistani army men by slitting throat, hanged many innocent people at town centres, bombed and attacked various public places in KPK, and so on. Taliban did not even spared Imran party’s elected members.

It means, condemning Taliban is due from Imran ‘the representative of KPK’ province where Taliban has created most havoc. So, can anyone please show Imran condemnation of Taliban, the killer and tormentor of people who voted Imran and Imran represents?

If Imran was sincere and genuine leader of KPK, caring for people of KPK, then it should have been him supporting drones (as it is killing tormentors of KPK), opposing any contact or negotiating with Taliban, demanding justice for people he represents, and thus asking for full fledge army action against Taliban.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

Talk about bull****. Due to this drone strike more Pakistanis will die. Specifically in KPK. This will lead to more Pakistanis dying. There will be only suicide bombers now. More kids orphans, more women widows. More men dead. And you can still preach living comfortably in the West the greatness of drone strikes.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

People posting from the comforts of their living rooms and office in West should read Stanford University/NYU report 'Living Under Drones'. That might put things in a perspective for them.

Drones is a total violation of every single UN human rights, international law and sovereignty charter yet it's absolutely disgusting to see bunch of warmongers defending totally illegal practice that could easily classify as a war crime according to the rules and regulations led by the the liberal independent, war experienced, secular, non Islamic Western countries not by Taliban or Pakistanis.

Do Pakistanis have sense of sovereignty, pride and self esteem at all?

Drones are effective, where is the proof? Is Pakistan still a safe, secure, war free country despite giving total freedom to an imperial killer to launch his murderous campaign?

How pathetic and embarrassing it is for a nuclear armed country which has been fighting a war for decade, paid the highest human and economic price isn't allowed to have peace or even wish for it. It's okay for US and NATO to make peace with Talibans but when Pakistan tries to go ahead with the same collectively agreed upon and accepted deal, US drones flies in takes away the Talib leader who showed some willingness to sign a ceasefire. What exactly is going on?

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

All IK apologists can you answer one question did TTP exist before drone attacks? were no Pakistanis being killed by these pigs before the drone attacks? Will they cease to exist if drone attacks cease? Drone attacks are one of the contributory factor but not the only one. They dont need any excuse to attack our state.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

PTI Chief Imran Khan says wont pass NATO supplies even it costs us our KPK government

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

TTP or no TTP, why are they drone strike in the first place? It violates every single UN and Pakistani law, no imperial power should have any 'excuse' to violate the international law and our sovereignty. Drones are totally illegal and unacceptable, no amount of ifs and buts or twisted excuses can change this fact.

It's got nothing to do with being an apologists of a certain individual. It's about knowing where the international and a sovereign countries' law stands. What's legal and what illgal, what is right and what is wrong and yes two wrongs don't make a right, before you say anything.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

I agree with what ever you have written, except the fact that FATA is not under Pakistani law and jurisdiction. The tribal areas are governed by British era FCR law (which is different as compared to the rest of the country). The residents do have any legal recourse, the High Courts and Supreme Courts do not function there.

The areas of FATA in which drone strikes are taking place are ironically out of the state's control (No state writ there).

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

It's still not an excuse to just sit there and let an imperial yet totally illegal murderous campaign run havoc in the country. I'm beginning to Pakistan establishment really isn't bothered to bring FATA under Federal command. Efforts must be made pacify and federalise FATA otherwise this excuse of no gov. writ already extremely outdated and irrelevant.

I fail to understand how anyone benefits from Mehsud's death, despite him being top Taliban commander? Defeat for TTP, more like a slap on Pakistan's face.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

I am not agreeing with drone attacks my point is simply that TTP animals are using this as an excuse to keep attacking the state, if drones were not there they would have found another excuse to attack our state. They were doing it before something which you are not addressing. I am against drone attacks but if they kill an animal like Meshud than good for the that drone. IK should come out with a full condemnation of TTP and than address other issues. Why does he shy away from condemning them. Pakistan comes first and foremost and than IK or any other leader.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

Did IK ever yell at Taliban when they attacked army and civilians even negotiation push forward by govt?
Any of his single statement to his brothers " o bhaio attack stop karo kyinke ham bat cheet ke liyae bula rahe hain " no he never yell at them only his RR about stop drones. And what he saying that ALL nation now know who are the enemies of Pakistan ?
Did the Pak army enemy of Pakistan? Coz it's clearly permit by army to attack these rates by drones.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

There is this area where the terrorists of all shades and colors (from all over the world) have found refuge. The army cannot freely move there. This provides the US an excuse that sovereignty of Pakistan is not violated as there is no Pakistani control in those areas.

More than drones I believe that FCR is the major factor which has contributed to militancy in FATA.

Re: Imran warns direct talks with Taliban if govt fails

UN walas are not TTP. Of course they are using it as an excuse, how hard it is for them to approach a 14 year old boy (or the boy to go to nearest Taliban recruitment office or whatever) who has lost his entire family in drone attacks to grab a suicide jacket and seek his revenge on the streets of Peshawar. Anyone who has a pea size knowledge about tribal culture would know that the idea of revenge is deeply rooted in their psyche and there's absolutely no doubt that drones strikes have massively contributed the the radicalisation of FATA as well increasing the rate of revenge attacks. Drones cannot defeat the ideology that's behind the daily killings of innocent Pakistanis, therefore they're illegal and utterly useless.

Again how does Pakistan benefits from Mehsud's death considering his replacement has already been announced? After decade of fighting this war, its safe to say we're beyond that usual media condemnation of Taliban just to score some brownie points, it's time to wrap up this war for sake of Pakistan. IK is the only man in the country who has put his entire weight behind concluding this war and finding lasting peace for the country. Full marks to him for his sincere efforts and consistency, while the fed gov, military and all other parties sit there numb and aloof and just view the tamasha from distance.
