I hope the former. Consider this. Taliban and their fasadi khariji ideology and society, is NOT America’s problem. America’s invasion of Taliban government was not because they did not like Taliban. Americans care least about what Taliban do to the people and the country. After all, they do support similar pathetic society, Saudi.
America’s problem actually was foreigners in Afghanistan (and Pakistan FATA) who had taken refuge under Taliban, and planning attacks against American interests around the world. THAT is the reason America invaded Afghanistan.
America can therefore tolerate Taliban government if they agree to stop providing shelter to those who go against American interests. America will also leave in case it believes that such people working against its interests have become ineffective.
If either of this becomes true then America will have NO problem accepting Taliban.** America does not even need them to lay down arms**. And THAT’s what America wants to do now.
But contrary to America, Pakistan’s problem in this war is NOT foreign mufsideen rather the Taliban and their affiliates. Pakistan’s society has not been Taliban and affiliates, not their foreign allies. Taliban are Pakistan’s enemies, not America’s. Taliban have killed thousands of Pakistanis, not Americans. Taliban (and affiliates) want to control Pakistan, not America.
So while America can accept Taliban government, Pakistan CAN’T.
Conclusion: Imran can NOT argue that America’s talking to Taliban is a justification for his case of Pakistan starting similar talks with Taliban.

Imran has been saying dont bomb your own people. We need to talk to our people who for some reasons are annoyed with us. I am talking about the people who were assets to this nation. They helped us getting back Azad kashmir and now we are bombing them with no discrimination between humans and animal.

What Amreeka says or does is irrelevant w.r.t. Pakistan beacuse Amreeka only cares about its interests. Amreeka has been trying to talk to Taliban for quite a few years because its a$$ is on the line not because it gives 2 hoots about A-Stan.
Pakistan should talk to Taliban because they are Pashtuns and a majority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there is no other way...PEROID.....

I think you should have put focus on "Why PAKISTAN CAN'T" instead of misleading people. And it is certainly not a JUSTIFICATION. It is an example to show Pakistanis. When invaders are ready to talk. Why are we bombing our own people in FATA?

Who is accepting Taliban here. Please get your facts right. There were no Pakistani Taliban etc. They were all there in afghanistan. How they got created we all know when we bombed our own people. THey considered us as an agent of USA and declared war against us. If we make this war our own which we havnet yet. We can take control of all that Pakistani taliban or terrorism issue in 90 days inshallah.

So Taliban is suddenly not America's problem! That's rich. First exacerbate the mess (even if the Americans did not create the problem in the first place) and then conveniently leave when it suits them
There is no distinction between Al-Qaeda and Taliban/TTP IMO. Both are extremists, both are our enemies
What was sulah hudaibiya about? Was it with friends of Islam? The bottomline is we cannot eradicate militancy by military force alone. At some point we will have to talk with these people too

The only reason UK was able to get concessions from IRA was that they were in a position of dominance. Every treaty is not applicable everywhere. The concessions they made to IRA included things like acknowledging that separation from the UK was a legitimate demand, that this was something that the Irish would decide amongst themselves, that this would be voted on that prisoners would be released and so on. What concessions do you think we should offer LJ and TTP and other assorted terrorist groups. Be specific. What you offer to terrorists is motivated by what the terrorists want. IRA wanted an independent Ireland. The treaty says independence will be decided peacefully by the Irish. LJ/TTP wants to eradicate minorities and impose an Islamist government over the country, delegitimizing democracy and imposing Khilafah. What would you propose to them as a counteroffer.

btw I never supported Imran's stance on Taliban. I am not a fan of drones either because they kill innocents. I prefer a full-scale invasion Swat-style. I would tell them to give up their armed conflict and fasad against the state in return for educating their children and helping them via strategic economic projects to combat poverty and to create jobs.
If they refuse declare all out war against them i.e. Swat-style operation (evacuate civilians first). This strategy of selectively targeting them via drones has clearly not worked because terrorists move from one part of S.W. to another part of S.W. or from one part of N.W. to another part of N.W.

But that's not they ever asked for.
If education and jobs were their demands then they would not have been blowing up schools and terrorizing their people.
