What about people like Imran Khan, Benazir Bhutto, Qazi Hussain and all the other political leaders who supported Musharraf's military coup? Shouldn't they be tried and hanged as well for supporting and even facilitating this so-called treasonable act?
Agreed in hindsight it was unwise of all of them to support the coup knowing the history of these military dictators (Ayub hung around for almost 11 years and left only after the public moved against him. And believe you me Zia would still be the president if he had not died in that plane crash). They all probably felt at the time that the coup was the lesser of the two evils because of their downright hatred of Nawaz (BB being her usu. selfish self probably saw this as political opportunism). No one actually thought that Mush would hang around for as long as he has. Immi often jokes that successive military dictators have been telling us for 50 odd years that we are in the transitional phase of democracy and we just never seem to get rid of this blo*dy transition.
