US has succeeded in invading and defeating Afghanistan and Taliban quite easily using a very small number of troops. Controlling, ruling and administering it is a different matter.
Even Russia had succeeded on same accounts but they ended up withdrawing totally and that was wiser of them.... Bush has US bleeding in Afghanistan not just its soldiers but its economy as well.
