The card is a combination of a colorful mela fan which is for the Mehendi and pre-wedding party (happening at the Malik’s Karjat farm on 8th Jan) and the wedding reception invitation, a yearly planner for 2011. The actual page on Jan 10th has the invitation.
The theme for the wedding is black, white and silver. Both of these along with chocolates and pot pourri are contained in a black box.

For the Mehendi and pre-wedding party the cooks are from a traditional family with a lineage of over 200 years. They’ve cooked for Nassir Hussain’s family for mo
re than five decades, and the 22-member team, will be in Karjat with their vessels and spices. The menu is expected to feature Kakori, Shammi, Ghutwa, Boti and Sheek Kababs, apart from Nawabi kormas and biryanis.
For the vegetarians, the food is from Mumbai’s famous restaurant Khyber.

Imran Khan is wearing creations by Varun Bahl and Manish Malhotra.
Avantika will wear a Manish Malhotra lehenga for the wedding, and a Shantanu-Nikhil gown for the reception.
Imran’s mother Nuzhat will be in a Sabyasachi sari and aunt Kiran Rao will be wearing a Sabyasachi lehenga.

Special Marriage Act
According to sources, the wedding will be registered under the Special Marriages Act, and not under the Hindu or Muslim law.
Imran’s father Anil Pal, is a Bengali now living and working in the US. Anil Pal and Nuzhat separated when Imran was just over a year old. Nuzhat later married Aamir’s co-star Raj Zutshi.
Imran Avantika opt for a court marriage as they did not want either of their families to be in a fix, choosing one custom over the other.

For the Sangeet ceremony, it was a red lehenga by Manish Malhotra for the bride and a blue sherwani by Karan Johar-Varun Bahl for the groom.
Uncle Aamir was also in a Karan Johar-Varun Bahl creation while Kiran is in Sabyasachi.
It was naach-gaana at the sangeet ceremony held at the bride-to-be's farmhouse in Karjat, that saw Bollywood biggies attend the do on Saturday night.
Aamir's mother Zeenat and brother Mansoor Khan were seen looking after the guests.
Kunal Kapoor, Danish Aslam, Shahana Goswami and Karan Johar drove in, all looking forward to a rocking evening. Fahad Samar and Simone Singh, Ritu Shivpuri, Minissha Lamba, Ashutosh Rana, Chetan and Anusha Bhagat and Manish Goswami too dropped in. The guests gorged on some delicious food and danced till the wee hours of morning.
While Salman Khan was here because of Aamir, Katrina Kaif made it a point to attend the do for Imran, they're doing a film together after all.

Couple to live in Bandra after wedding:
A house in Bandra, Mumbai is being renovated for the couple to move in after their nuptial.
“The house is being renovated now and it is being readied in record time. The work on the interiors is going on as we speak. After the registry at the Bandra apartment, the couple will proceed towards a five-star hotel in Bandra for a treat,” affirmed a source.
“The registry will take place at Imran’s home where mamu Aamir Khan, his wife Kiran Rao and a few close friends will be there.
"The wedding will be celebrated with a dinner at the hotel where the guests witnessing the wedding will be treated to a special Mughlai and Thai menu prepared by the chefs,” the source concluded.

Imran Khan got engaged to Avantika Malik at his family’s sprawling farm house in Karjat. Imran looked dapper in a black sherwani and ivory silk kurta designed by Varun Bahl and Karan Johar. Avantika chose an unusual velvet Varun Bahl lehenga, in blue and gold.
The bride’s mother also wore a Varun Bahl velvet lehenga. Imran’s uncle Aamir Khan, his wife Kiran Rao and other family members and close friends attended the engagement. Aamir’s ex-wife Reena Khan also made a rare appearance.
