Inzy did beat india in India and Inzy won the first test series against SA.
Well Imran and Salim Malik are 2 good captains and I am not saying Imran is better or Malik is better. I agree with you, imran was a great captain but I still insist Salim Malik is the most successful cricket captain in Pakistan's history.
Tell me how many games (Tests and ODIs) Imran played as a captain and how many games he won??
That series in 2005 was drawn. Inzi never won a test series in any other country apart from Sri Lanka.
Winning a test and winning a test series are two different things
And yes Pakistan won a two-test series against SA 1-0 at home in October 2003 but Inzi missed the first game which Pakistan won (Yousuf was the stand-in captain)
So credit for that series win should not really go to Inzi
And Imran never got a chance to captain Pakistan against SA (because of apartheid era)
Inzy did won an ODI series in India…
Similarly Malik did not get a chance to captain Pakistan in a Wc, otherwise he must have lifted the trophy.
You still did not answered the question.
That series against AUS, it was also said that Imran bhi didnt waana play coz the series was happening in September which was not the weather Imrana bhi waana play in. So lack of quality of Aus team was not the only reason for Imran to not to play…
Imran Khan (led Pakistan 48 times in tests, a Pakistani record) won 14 and lost 8 tests as captain. Malik (led 12 times) won 7 and lost 3 tests as captain but his record does not include any notable away wins. Malik’s test wins had more to do with the brilliance of the two W’s than his captaincy skills.
Pakistan won both the test (1-0) and one-day series (5-1, would have been 6-0 had Qadir not stupidly run himself out on the last ball!) under Imran Khan in India in 1987
The law has been changed now. A match is considered a tie these days if both teams finish on the same score even if one team has lost fewer wickets than the other team.
Imran had the support of Miandad, (notably) Salim Malik and many others. I don’t think a captain has more than 20% influence on a team’s performance. Without the support and availability of quality players, even the best captain can fail.
In games Malik captained Pakistan, he proved much more successful than any other captain (both tests and ODIs).
Now if Tendulkar has scored over 3000 runs against minnows, he still is the leading scorer. And if you say Mohammed Yousuf scored more than 600 runs against a struggling West indies then he still beat the record set by Richards so it does not matter what sort of opponent was out there.
As you said Imran was a very good captain, I will add any other captain was good too, and Malik was the most successful one.
I would personally wish Imran Khan concentrate on improving things that would bring goodness to this country (whether at Cricket, Health or Politics) instead of putting an idiot and immoral Sarfraz. I mean, seriously, I haven't met anyone who thinks that guy has some character. Yes, Imran khan may have his weaknesses like we all do but hey, Sarfraz??? lollll

I have heard from my Father that he - Sarfaraz nawaz - was once made the vice captain in english series and he disappeared in England and even found lifting things from the store and got a sentence... My father didn't remember the exact details... But thats way too below
He is attacking Imran personally as if he is the best person in the world .He was notorious for ''wife beating" and many more.Always searching for some thing to irritate others .Imran should not file any thing against him ,he may get the benefit of the doubt of being "mentally unstable''.
Imran not keen on PCB job
Former Pakistan captain, Imran Khan on Wednesday stated that he has no inclination whatsoever to hold any office at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and suggested that the trend of chairman’s appointment by President of Pakistan should be abolished at once.
Asked about his views on taking over the board affairs if offered, the former all-rounder categorically stated that he had no such desire.
Regretting that cricket board had run on ad hoc basis for the past nine years, Imran said it was high time that the constitution of the PCB was implemented in order revive the sagging fortunes of the game in the country.
Talking to newsmen here, Imran also announced that his legal cousel will soon be serving a notice on former pace partner Sarfraz Nawaz for making false allegations of gambling against him and other cricketers.
“Sarfraz has brought a bad name to the whole country by making false allegations of match-fixing and gambling on so many respected cricketers and I will shortly get a legal notice served on him,” he said.—PPI http://www.dawn.com/2007/04/12/spt5.htm
