Fed up with Sarfaraz Nawaz making defaming allegations time and again, former Pakistan captain Imran Khan on Thursday promised to take legal action against the ex-teammate and ask him to prove his unsubstantiated and baseless statement sinks he can say anything against anyone and get away because people don’t like to associate themselves with someone of his caliber and low character.
But this time he has said enough I am going to take him to court and file a defamation suit against him for damages or else he prove his allegations in court," Imran told a popular radio channel on Thursday.
Imran and Sarfaraz formed one of the most lethal bowling attacks for Pakistan in their prime in the late 70s and early 80s and Imran has generally credited his teammate for making him a world class bowler.
But in recent years both have fallen out and Sarfaraz has developed a knack of making loud statements and serious allegations against anyone under the sun.
In his latest outburst he told a television channel that Imran had demanded money from former Pakistan player Younus Ahmed to play him in the side on a tour and after he didn`t pay the full amount he was sent packing home.
Sarfaraz has alleged he was witness to the deal between Imran and Younus. He has also claimed that Imran used to take hashish regularly (charas) and had bawdy sex romps as a Pakistan team member.
“This man is totally characterless and a big liar. I don’t want to get down to his level but the fact is no one was willing to even share a room with him on tours.”
“Everyone knows the way he treated his poor late wife Rani and tried to grab her property while she was on her deathbed,” Imran said.
“Sarfaraz is a disgusting, dirty low character and a liar. Ask anyone about him and he will tell you. But this time I am not going to spare him and he will have to go to court to prove his allegations,” he added.
Imran also said that someone should ask Sarfaraz how he sustains himself at present a price you can get him to say anything.
“Now by coming out with these lies against me he is trying to please his masters in the ruling party and get a post in the coming elections,” claimed that Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer was murdered by a match-fixing mafia and the players should be investigated for their involvement in his death.

Sarfaraz ki kaunsi koi izzat hai duniya mein. He don't care if someone drags him through courts. But if all the glorious details of Imu's playboy days are paraded in a public court room, it will finally put an end to Imu's budding political career. Come to think of it, not a bad thing actually. May be then Imu will be rid of his grand ideas about becoming President of Pakistan and come down to President of PCB level and help Pakistan cricket.

Nice going by Imran....but unfortunately the way Pakistani courts work, means that he'll never get anything out of Sarfraz for another 10 years. There are defamation cases against Sarfraz Nawaz already, one filed by Ramiz Raja, another one by Wasim Akram, and also a 3rd one - by a PCB official (dont rem his name). And none of those cases has reached any conclusion despite having been filed 3-4 years back.
Sarfraz is a low life, but because he's part of the ruling PML-Q, PTV has to kiss the butt of its government masters and keeps putting him on TV, alongwith other losers like Abdul Qadir and Younis Ahmed....all of them are low lifes who talk nonsense and shouldnt even be given the opportunity to appear on TV, let alone make comments about other people.

I doubt he will even think about doing that specially as long as long Mush is in power.
On Sarfaraz part I think Imran should not take him into court instead he should counter attack by asking him to prove what ever Sarfaraz is saying. Once the elections are over than Imran should take him to court.

PTV? This man is all over. The worst allegations against Imran khan were made on Business Plus' programme Lucman.com. It clearly bordered on character assasination and was indeed in bad taste.

Cricket is a game and like any other game, it is always by chance. Sometimes the weaker teams can dominate strong teams but it does not mean the strong team was involved in match fixing.
OK there was no match fixing involved in this WC. But then why the best captain in Pakistan's history, i.e. Salim Malik still faces a charge of match fixing and why the ban imposed on him is still not lifted. Similarly Waqar, Wasim, Ijaz all faced such charges in the past. Why such great players were forced to defend charges of match fixing??? Now what PCB can offer to such great players to justify the decissions of the past????
OK I don't think Pakistan was ever involved in match fixing. Then the ban was imposed on players in the past just cause there was public pressure and cause Australians wanted Malik to retire????
The ban on players was wrong and just lift the ban from all the players.

Correction: Imran Khan is the greatest-ever Pakistan captain. If Imran had not picked and chosen series in the 80s, his win % would look a lot better. I know of atleast two series in which Imran refused to play because the opposition in his view was n’t good enough.

^ Australia was n't such a strong team back then. WI and Pakistan were the top two teams back then with Pakistan drawing three test series 1-1 with WI under Imran.

Inzy successfully defeated west indies in West indies so that makes inzy a better captain than Imran cause imran never succeeded in beating west Indies.

Inzy did beat india in India and Inzy won the first test series against SA.
Well Imran and Salim Malik are 2 good captains and I am not saying Imran is better or Malik is better. I agree with you, imran was a great captain but I still insist Salim Malik is the most successful cricket captain in Pakistan's history.
Tell me how many games (Tests and ODIs) Imran played as a captain and how many games he won??
