by the way he has been out of the country before this flood happened. I think it was in July when he had his 1st fundraiser in Seatle. He did not leave the country right after the flood on a so called official trip for iyashee.

thanks for adding this info
however for those with their minds made up it may not make any difference
where do you see any ethnic color in the criticism of Imran. the criticism that is leveled at him is genuine.
he himself is out of the country and yet he is criticizing Zardari for being out of the country. if he is doing fundraising abroad, then maybe he should concentrate on that instead of these political statements?
and lastly, until Imran dissociates with the right wing nutjobs and stops harboring a soft spot for religious terrorists/bearded animals, he will never be taken seriously by any Pakistani who yearns for a secular, liberal, democratic Pakistan where human rights and freedoms are ensured for all citizens regardless of color, ethnicity, class, religion, etc.
seriously is that the best that you can do? throwing tit for tat comments? how petty.
Imran is fundraising out of Pakistan right now. I met with him Sunday, yesterday and spoke with him before he boarded his flight to leave Toronto today.
He thought of cancelling his trip but was advised that he could do more for the country by fundraising (both for the flood victims and the numerous medical facilities that he founded) abroad and seeking membership for his party in order to bring about the greater good.
The comparison of his trip to that of Zardari's is laughable; particularly since Zardari holds office.
Once you have jumped into the political ring it is impossible to do anything or go anywhere without being asked to provide your political opinion. During the fund-raising lunch yesterday he was repeatedly dragged into political discussions despite his efforts to remain focused on the hospital and its needs/benefits.
Your criticism may be genuine....but it certainly isn't well thought-out.
actions speak louder than words , how many others have kept their promises , atleast we have one cancer hospital , and that also without govt support ... i think the comparison between zardari and imran khan is just hilarious ...
Just another thief who is looking to loot our country, that is.
People just get carried aways so easily.
A man who doesn't have the balls to publicly acknowledge his illegitimate daughter, sure doesn't deserve my respect. And when he plays the Muslim card and acts all Momin, I sure as hell don't believe him. He's one of the biggest hypocrites out there.
Quite nice of you to bring someone's personal life on a political discussion.. I'm sure what you have done behind close door is not amusing either... his illegitimate child doesn't bring any pins and needles to Pakistanis but corrupt President and his chamchayz do bring all the pain and misery for the whole country.

I would've done the same if I were in a similar situation.. getting donation from those who actually can help with a decent amount is better than getting 50 rupeea from Mianwali or any other pind of pakistan... It's very time consuming and laborious, so better plan it strategically.

if thats the ONLY criteria, lets make Edhi PM ...shall we?
Nawaz Shareef
Zardari
Bilawal Bhutto (in waiting)
Hamza Shareef (in waiting?)
Musharraf
Iltaf Hussain (?!!)
Any sane, intelligent person who wishes well for their country would by DEFAULT choose Imran Khan. Speaks volumes about the pathetic state of corrupt, ethnic centered politics in Pakistan that they haven't turned out to vote for him.

funny story......actually not funny but kinda sad.....
friend was saying that her nana got all dressed up to go and cast his vote and returned only a very short while later......when everyone asked how he could be back so soon he answered, "Meray vote tau dal chuka tha......."
That's tragic -- though my family's experience was quite the opposite and we were able to cast votes for Imran's party in 2002. Had to endure those awful polling stations set in government schools , and also had to commute from one station to another to find which had our names in its list, but it was SO worth it.

You know what's funny Muzna; there are supporters of MQM here, and they admitted here on GS that their votes are already cast for them, and yet they go about supporting their party of goons. Most of these people who speak ill against Imran are MQM supporters, because Imran, a true Pakistani hero spoke out against the MQM and its party leaders after the 12th May massacre.
Benazir, Nawaz Sharif, Musharraf and now Zardari, and their henchmen/allies were all against a free media and an independent judiciary when in power. Only Imran has the audacity and honesty to be given an opportunity to put his sincerity to serve the country.
So what if Imran wins or not, at least I can take solace in the fact that I voted for an honest and sincere person, rather than a two bit opportunistic murdering thug like Altaf Hussain, based solely on ethnic lines.

And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is the stuff that nations are made of!!!
