As unacceptable as Imran’s comments are, can someone tell me why the final failed to live up to it’s billing (I mean the game itself, not the ceremony or the arrangements)
People are also exaggerating a bit on social media. IK did not mention anyone by name. He said something like apart from 1 or 2 players he could not remember the names of the rest of the so-called foreign players who were picked for the final.
IK should realise that being in opposition does not mean always opposing and criticising the government. Criticism for the sake of criticism is not politics.
Same with border closure. Agreed you cannot seal the border for ever (impossible to airlift 3 million people!) but this step is necessary by the army until you have suitable measures (bomb/weapon sensors etc.) in place along the border. We need to protect our citizens as well.

IK is like a kid playing EU soccer electronic game for the first time. Now since he doesnt how to handle controller, he keeps on scoring self-goals.
The only difference is that the kid would fix himself once he loses while IK and his followers will say they not only scored but also defeated opponents badly

Its actually right. Thats the arrogant IK we all know since he was a cricketer. And nature doesnt change. Not that he is any less patriotic or he doesnt like cricket to flourish or anything. His sincerity cannot be doubted. But its just that he is never going to accept he did anything wrong, which is the first step before an apology

Sorry but I think such language is unbecoming of a mod..
It is ok to criticise people but if you use baazari language yourself then you lose all moral argument imo.
I am not going to defend Imran here. Whether it was just meant for private consumption, what he said was offensive and unacceptable. He needs to choose his words carefully in public…but we know that he can be very arrogant at times; has a big ego…nothing new here at least for me…but he has his positives too.
But if u make pathetic personal attacks like bringing up his daughter or his son’s jewish heritage as you often do (yes they have jewish blood but then so what … kya jews insaan nahin hotey?), then be ready to face strong criticism.
And as much as some people would like to put a spin on it, both Viv and Miandad (that’s not to say he did not have his differences with Imran during his playing days) think very highly of Imran the cricketer. Both remain good friends and infact Miandad openly supported Imran during the 2013 election. There was even news that he had joined PTI!!
I give credit where it is due. I would say PML-N despite its corruption/weaknesses has brought some stability to Pakistan over the past 4 years and has done some good things such as on infrastructure. The last PPP government was an utter disaster. Governance was non-existent.
